We shouldn't be getting these NPC special armours in the first place, it's stupid taking what is meant to be unique to them. Also I agree with needing more differences. Having locked gear is good, having an unequal amount is what's bad.

As long as they don't start doing it like WoW where a fully covering chest piece on a male character randomly becomes a platekini on a female character, I don't especially care what they do with this gender locking business.
I'll just keep repeating this:
We need more gender and race locked gear in the game.
MORE, not less.

I have to admit, seeing Aymeric's attire male only saddened me a little. I am trying to find a good paladin glamour, and that would have been quite awesome for it. Unfortunately, I don't feel like making my character a male. But I am okay with it too, while it'd be nice to have a female version of the item, it makes sense that it's male only.

I think it's good that the boys get exclusive glamours too! The balance should be a bit better than it is now though.

Reading too much of the forums makes me very sad and apathetic.

As I've said in other threads, its a cultural disconnect. In the east while male and female are equal in most cases, they are different. Distinctly so. They believe the only time to wear another genders' distinct style is to hide one's gender (like Faris with pirates in FFV), or for comedic value (like Cloud in FFVII).
The idea of a girl dressing like a boy or vice versa as a regularity is both foreign and alien. The people working on this sort of thing quite frankly don't understand why the west does what it does.
I'd love to be able to use Ser Aymeric's armor on my character. But the dev that slapped the tag on there though that the only reason I'd want to do that, or others would want to do that is to be silly. They've decided in their opinion that we cannot use such armor for such 'silliness'.
I don't agree with it. But that's their culture causing that. Some how some one has to educate them that it is for a serious purpose. So far no one has been able to convince them.
I agree with you, OP. No armor should be locked behind race or gender, IMO.

I will never understand why people think that locking things behind race and gender will make them so unique. That is stupid. Taking away choice doesn't make you unique. Means that I have to conform to the same stupid looks that everyone with my race/gender has. I want more options to mix and match, more ways to express who I am. I don't want to be locked into choosing from a handful of things :/
That said, I too think its stupid that they locked his set. Don't make me pay for the full set and then only let me use the hair. Ridiculous.
