Please revamp the Chocobo coloring system

I have been trying to color my Chocobo a specific color for about a month and I just can't land on it. I use guides, Chocobo calculator, color maps and nothing works. Not to mention it's time consuming and expensive. There has to be a better way of coloring your Chocobo the color you want without wasting too much time and money.

Right now, we feed our Chocobo a set of fruits that are calculated to change your color of Chocobo depending on the amount of fruit and order fed and wait 6 hours for the results. If that system is unchangeable, can you at least prompt us what color we are going to get after each fruit fed. If the color isn't what we want, we can still change it by feeding it another combination until the color we desired is prompt. Then we wait the 6 hours and done. We have the color we want.

Another easier way would be to have an NPC who can change your Chocobo's color for you. You just pay him or her the amount they ask and select the color and they'll do it for you.

If there is a better idea, please post. This is very frustrating.

    I used this resource

    http://ffxivchocobo.com/

seemed to work fine for me.

Simple put your current color then desired and it will tell you how many you need to feed it.

The color calculator helped me with coloring mine the way I wanted. The suggestion order of berry feeding seemed correct. What color are you trying to get? I also kept feeding after it said the colors of my chocobo's feathers were changing, I didn't wait until it actually changed to finish feeding all the fruit required.

    Example, I made Jeff Apple Green using 1 × Doman Plum, 5 × Mamook Pear, 6 × O'Ghomoro Berries
Fed all at once using the order it suggested without waiting between each time it told me that the feathers were changing:

    Doman Plum
    O'Ghomoro Berries
    O'Ghomoro Berries
    Mamook Pear
    O'Ghomoro Berries
    Mamook Pear
    O'Ghomoro Berries
    Mamook Pear
    O'Ghomoro Berries
    Mamook Pear
    O'Ghomoro Berries
    Mamook Pear

A friend also did the same with Midnight blue. Her chocobo turned out exactly how she wanted it using the same site as the above post.

I used that same website with my main's bird and my alt's bird. The first one, which I turned grape purple, didn't work the first time. It went brown. But I went back to the calculator, put in the brown color and the color I wanted it, and the second time I got it to grape purple. The other one, which I wanted olive green, went the right color on the first try. So sometimes you get it right the first time, sometimes it take a second try. But that website DOES work.

A NPC for color changing would be great, the chocobo coloring system is old and it well needs an update or even better an upgrade!...

There are some colors that can be really hard to obtain like Lotus Pink and Sooth Black, the Twelve knows how many times I've tried to get them without success, it's still doable but it takes six hours of wait for every attempt to hit the right shade!...

Maybe Jandelaine would be interested in starting a new business for chocobos!...

The color calculator is not exact and there's some rng involved. My suggestion is if the initial feeding didn't go as planned, go back to the calculator and recalculate for the current color to the one you want, then start feeding it the suggested food until you get the feathers changing color notification then just wait and repeat as needed.

It works sometimes because there is a small RNG involved in getting the correct colour.

Since you have been trying for a month now, I have to ask, are you doing this in one feeding or?

I don't need to say anything else really: this should've been the proper way to make chocobo's dyeing from the very beginning. I still don't understand why this is the current system and I remember my poor sister eager to dye her chocobo green, but to give up because she didn't even have a stable.

On top of that it's a good gil sink and makes things quick. If anything we could've used the same dyes we use for the glamour.

Yes it's awkward to "dye" our animals but if the chocobo fly despite their impossible physique, I think we can survive with the possible dyeing of feathers.

I've dyed six of my alts Chocobos and never had trouble with it using the calculator. :O Have you been sure to alternate the fruits?

The -only- change I would like them to make to the system is the silly amount of time it takes to see the results.

Yup. That's the same website I use. It worked for my wife and nephew, but for me it never has worked. I got to royal blue on my own when this was introduced. After a year, I decided to go soot black and that's where it started. I couldn't land on it, so when I got to a color I already had gotten that needed 2 of the same fruits and didn't work, I just used 1 and it worked. Now I'm on an alt trying to get to black and again I'm bouncing around all over again. This time it's taking me way too long. I am feeding them all at once in order specified by the site. That RNG is killing me. We just need a simple, easy to use method for coloring our Chocobos. This is too tedious and time consuming.
