With Kurogane being a huge one map city, isn't it about time to make all previous city one map cities? I think that would be cool and more interesting to walk through them.

There have been quite a lot of threads about this recently. Splitting them up was a design decision and stitching them back together again would be a massive amount of work adding all of the extensive 'missing' areas in between the joins. The benefits don't outweigh the costs right now, but hopefully new cities will be designed more ambitiously.
Gridania, Limsa Lominsa and Ul'dah are only missing some tunnels and stairs. There have been quite a lot of threads about this recently. It is Ishgard that will make the most work
That would still be less of developer's time waste than diadem v2.
Not really the new diadem is better than the old one and provides something to do, this would remove a 60 second or so loading screen the rare times people don't just teleport where they want to go in the city
No it wouldn't, Diadem was redesigned with new concepts and replaced the older design, it's easier to redesign a concept when you don't have to worry about leaving anything out from the older version.
With the cities it's extremely different, it's not just about take Zone A and Zone B and overlaying them to fit together as a new zone.
-You have to first recreates the zone and re-imagine it as 1 whole zone.
-Then you have to look at everything in those 2 old zones and meticulously place them in the same location.\
- Then you have to make sure all the NPC triggers are still there.
-Make sure all the Cutscenes are still in the game for those zones
And this is just for 1 city, then you have to repeat the process of the other 2 2.0 cities as well as the 3.0 city. It just isn't worth the effort for the minimal immersion it would provide to a small minority that would like to see it.
It's not very marketable though. Whether you like Diadem or not, saying 'we released a new gameplay mode to give a taster of a mode we're adding in Stormblood' is a lot more impressive-sounding than 'we spent hundreds and thousands of dollars adding more corridors 99% of people will never use in Ishgard'.
Limsa was one map during 1.0 I liked it much better then it being split now.
