Please REVAMP FRIEND LIST!!!

The stalking is REAL, it is NOT at ALL nice when I 'unfriended' someone and I'm still on their list. There was NO WARNING that friend list works on this one sided way.

It's taking away my joy in making new friends, 'proper' new friends. When the STALKERS kept sabotaging my gameplay, my PF, my privacy, my everything in the game becomes a eorzea nightmare!

I need you development team to know I am NOT HAPPY in EORZEA right now for the last 2 years because I can't DO ANYTHING properly. There are vindictive people or just down right crazy people. I cannot for the life of me start afresh in a new server, or new name, or new eorzea raid goal when the stalkers keep dreading my game, does anyone even understand my plea?! Please! It isn't funny at all! They follow me everywhere! like everywhere! wherever I teleport they can find me! Somebody please help me make some noise to Revamp Friend List Please!

I completely agree with this. Though I also agree with the OP. If I unfriend someone, it should remove them from my list, and remove me from theirs. Since friends lists are maintained on the local clients - IIRC - I can see why this is currently difficult. However, if friends lists get a reworking (especially an expansion to go cross world...) then, I believe they should be maintained server side, and when you remove a friend from your list, the system should reciprocate that move on the other player's list too. Conversely if you blacklist someone, the system should ideally place you on their blacklist as well, and at the same time remove you from their friend list (assuming you were ever there).

There's definitely room for improvement, but stalkers need to be reported regardless.

I stand right with you there. If only blacklist kept them out of our view

Blacklisting a player should;

• block them from all chat channels
• prevent your local client even rendering them
• prevent them from joining your party through PF
• prevent them from being matched to you through Duty Finder or Duty Roulette.
• remove them from your friendlist (if they were ever there)
• remove you from their friendlist (if you were ever there).

Is there an option to tag your lodestone entry as private? I feel like we should have the option of d-listing our character from the Lodestone.

File GM reports, blacklist them. Can't confirm, but blacklist may remove you from their friend list. Also, you will show up in player search, so if they really want to stalk you, they will do it that way. GM reports are the way to go in this particular case.

I've tried Blacklist, it doesn't work. its' all a one sided process. I know people can still search my lodestone. But in-game they know how to stalk without breaking the rules. whatever screenshots, reports etc etc. People know how to work around it.

Stalking is a rule breaker. The reason you need file reports is the fact players are much more creative than automated systems to prevent abuse, and it is needed human supervision.

Then much depends how things really are. I once got reported by a fc-less player because I dare sent him a tell asking if he wanna join my FC (he just replied he had reported me for harassment).

Have a FC member who changed servers and character name to get away from a stalker. Said person was simply able to find them via their lodestone profile which didn't change, and followed them to our server. GM reports every time they contact you are the only way to go unfortunately. The more you file the better. Document every interaction no matter how small and you'll establish the paper trail that is needed for a GM to take increasing levels of action.

Wow, do those people have nothing better to do than follow you around? I'm sorry to hear about this OnShinn, but it's trivially easy for people to follow where you are in-game too with player search which always shows your location just like the friend list. The only benefit forcing the friend list link to break would be that your name wouldn't be highlighted to them. Please keep reporting them, and just ignore their harassment as best you can - eventually they'll realise they're paying to play a game of standing around someone who hates them and isn't upset, and have some kind of emotional awakening.
