After spending countless hours grinding MGP for various stuff, the single track in there is mindnumbingly short.
It's gotten old to the point that most of the time I end up turning BGM off in options when I'm in there.

Clearly you've never played FFVII before because that is where Gold Saucer came from along with it's music track (called Four-Sided Circle here in ARR but it was simply known as Gold Saucer in FFVII)... (I'm sorry if it seems I was attacking you, I'm not, I'm just making an observation).
And yes, it is repetitive... but then that's what older FF games were like, music themes were often short melodies that looped endlessly and became repetitive. But before you pass judgement, Soken originally wanted music tracks to avoid that in ARR, until players complained and said they wanted repetitiveness and looping tracks... so Soken obliged. It's just one of those things that will never be solved I'm afraid.
Personally I like the looping music, but you are fully entitled to your preferences too of course.![]()

The Gold Saucer track(regardless of where it came from, yes I did play FFVII, it was my first FF) is too imposing. You can't just afk in game, wait for GATEs and do something else, the music is too loud to do other things on your PC while you wait for MGP grind GATEs. While I was grinding MGP I always turned my own BGM off(also, why are sound effects included in the BGM? Turn off the BGM, turn in some things for Seals and wonder where your sound effects go :/).
Maybe they could just remix the original Gold Saucer track for FFXIV. It is not the FFVII version of the Gold Saucer, add some Eorzea flair to the track and make it more mellow for those long grind sessions?
There's people that haven't played 7? I played it in Japanese when it first came out. I'm plenty familiar of the song's origin. It's just that, unlike other places, you're expected to listen to a 1:25 second song on loop for days to get all this crap.
i remember spendig WEEKS in there to get Aerith' fun weapon from the Rollercoaster Shooter until i finally got the highscore - and my ears were BLEEDING xDClearly you've never played FFVII before because that is where Gold Saucer came from along with it's music track (called Four-Sided Circle here in ARR but it was simply known as Gold Saucer in FFVII)... i completely disagree: the soundtrack of FF7 is AWESOME and not very repetitive - except for this nasty Gold Saucer song >.>
however: as ear hurting that song is, it still is a good memory, FF7 Gold Saucer was fun ^^
What we need are just more areas that break up the main theme of gold saucer. The battle arena, with a revamp FF7 battle theme if we're still rolling with the nostalgia train, the gondola ride, the haunted hotel etc. If the GC was more fleshed out it probably wouldn't be that bad. Although I do agree the track itself seems rather loud compared to the rest of the game.
