transferring UI, Hotbar, Gear sets, game settings from Desktop to Laptop.

Hello and good day, as the title suggests, I'm having trouble transferring whatever settings i have on my desktop onto my laptop.

I've tried every method from copying the "my games" XIV folder on My documents to the desktop to laptop to doing the backup option in the client but to no avail.

Can anyone who's done this successfully give me any help as to what they did to theirs?

    thank you!

Best way is to launch the ffxiv launcher, go into config and backup the interface setting if I'm right.

Copying the final fantasy folder in my games should be all you need to do.

On my network I have the entire users folder synced in real time across my devices. So if I change a gear set on laptop or update my hot bars. Those same changes are synced to my desktop so the next time log in there those changes will be there. so it's definitely the right folder

I would guess maybe your not pasting it in quite the right place?

The character-specific hotbar/gearset/HUD settings are located in C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn\FFXIV_CHRxxxxxxxxxxx\, with the exes being a unique character ID for your character. Copying that folder alone and placing it in the exact same location on your other computer should do it. I tend to log in once on the character before copying the files so that the folder's created by the game, then I just copy everything into the folder.
