    A suggestion for 2.0

Assuming that 2.0 will be overflowing with copious amounts of content, features, etc....

Can SE please NOT tell us everything that will be in it?... as in, don't list every landmark, every new feature, every new item, every new move, every new mob, etc... etc...

It seriously kills the whole adventure aspect of the game when you know everything there is to know before playing.

As far as now, it's understandable, we're in the "Beta Phase", the fan base is fickle, every word is held with high regard and disclosing patches in great detail is somewhat detrimental....

you should work for their press management. Not letting the mass know your selling point it's the best strategy ever.
Seriusly, why they should't let us know what content we should expect ?

edit: i understand to a degree the patch notes are quite exaustive, but they don't say everything. They don't say trategy for a content, nor they say damage formulas to do some examples. Just now we don't know how damage work, the only official news we have for that it's str don't work to increase damage alone

There's a difference between knowing what to expect and being illicitly told every single thing included in the new patch.

In my opinion, it's more exciting being told "The next patch will include several new raids, each with its own set of bosses" than "The next patch will include new dungeons accessed via XLocation, the bosses will be YDemon and YDragon, and they will drop ZLoot."

Don't get me wrong, anyone who played FFXI knows how bad SE used to be about giving out information. They didn't do it most of the time. "This ability will be adjusted." "This drop rate will be adjusted." "We will look into this issue." They've gotten much better about it since the launch of XIV, but there is a point where it's too much of a good thing. Leave a little bit in the dark. They didn't need to showcase the loot from the Dark Moogle fight. Would've been more exciting to let the players finish the fight and discover the loot on their own, in my opinion.

Although I agree that not every nook & cranny needs to be covered and mentioned prior-to, transparency is SE's friend right now, lest they travel down the same launch road as 1.0...

Well, that's always something opinions may differ on.
Personally, I love the intel management of SE regarding FFXIV

Until 2.0 hits, I WANT to know every little detail, I think it's kind of there responsibility.
After 2.0 though is entirely different. We expect it to be a normal MMORPG by that time, and a normal MMORPG tells the players "Oh look, we released a cool new island with several raids and swimming as a feature and new races and bla bla bla!"
    But that's it.
    It's like..what you'd hear and see in a commercial.
It's not as detailed as the Producer letters we get now, and we can find out about a lot of stuff by ourselves
That's how I want it to be when 2.0 hits.

Right now though this game is getting fixed.
We are supposed to give direct feedback to everything.
Not telling us exactly what changed will result in some stuff taking weeks or months to be found by players, hindring us to give direct feedback to the changes.
So I don't want the detailed information to vanish before we reach 2.0.

in times of old we were not told the in's and out's of ever aspect of a game (any game) but in recent times it has become normal for a huge game to be released with a player guide. and numerous player created guides pop up on the internet, even old games like FF1 that had no guide at the time of its release (as far as i know) now have guides on the net. anyway all this kinda points to the fact that players want all the information at their fingertips, and this is why we are given so much details player created demand

What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.
