Yoshi is being too comfortable, but the moment another game does things better they'll have to consider it adding top requests to the game (mid content, new race, more customization).

FFXIV is doing great and I'm happy, but things never stay the same. If they don't plan for the future they might be blindsided.
Using WoW as an example for adding new race/s is a poor choice.

World of Warcraft: 2004 - Launches with 8 races divided by 2 warring factions.
Burning Crusade: 2007 - Launches with 2 additional races (3years)
Wrath of the Lich King: 2008 - No new races
    Cataclysm: 2010 - 2 additional races (3 years)
Mist of Pandaria: 2012 - 1 new race (2 years)
Warlord of Draenor: 2014 - No new race
Legion: 2016 - No new race
    (next race...?)

So about every 3 or 4 years a new race is added to WoW. Only exception being between Cata and MoP. They add a race when it makes sense to do so. Not because players are asking for it.

Another reason using WoW as a comparison is bad is due to the games age. It's been out for 13 years. Naturally it's going to have more than a game that's only 4 years old going by (ARR) or 7 years old going by (XIV).
