I’m curious if anyone was incredibly bummed out after the atma step, considering your right back to daily tome farming for other relics? I’m not going to get all into the conversation on the drop rate, there’s plenty of that on the forums right now but I think the drop rate is rough but doable, I finished mine yesterday evening.

Like most, I wasn’t thrilled about atma, but I will say I was looking forward to running fates in the regular zones as I’ve not been able to finish my fates and was looking forward to working on relics while doing that. Instead we’re back to EW tome item relic. One can only hope it doesn’t continue…they clearly don’t listen to us.

But when the developers do literally anything else, people complain as well.

It's day 3 and people are complaining about an atma grind that they have 2 months to do before next major patch, and even longer before the next relic step. Once that's done, they'll complain there's nothing to do.

I'm also not looking forward to grinding out tomes for additional relics. The typical, time-efficient means for doing so aren't my favorite cups of tea.

Frankly speaking, I was expecting to see some form of "pay XYZ tome" as the first step. I think what we get is an 'okay' start, I just hope they won't overstay to reappear at later steps.

This is a fair statement, considering we did get “something” different at least to do for the first step. I have several atma sitting in my inventory that I don’t need after turning the initial in, and I would have been okay if you could still collect them and turn them in for silver pieces or an alternative to buying the tome item like HW relic steps did. I suppose that would have been asking to much tho..

It seems pretty easy to get tomes by spamming CEs so at least you can keep doing the content to get them.

Considering there are currently 21 jobs and, thus, 21 Phantom relics, having the the grind proccess being smoothed out after the first one should only be fair for all completionists. This is also why Resistance Weapons also had plenty of one-time steps.

As jobs pile up with each expansion, the multiplier to time investment grows larger and larger, making it a lot harder to fine tune the right amount of time investment per job. Making every following weapon grind about fishing atmas isn't sustainable.

My only caveat is how the reagents for additional weapons don't, at least, have an option to buy with Bicolor Gemstones so that people can still do FATEs in Dawntrail areas after the first weapon, helping the FATE trains stay a bit more alive but, since it's about having options outside Occult Crescent, people can just do Roulettes to get the tomestones.

Honestly, I'm just thankful they didnt put the airship behind some huge grind or cash shop, content is content, but it should've come earlier, way earlier.
It's very mid at best, nothing new, nothing too exciting and with their writers I'm kinda dreading how they are going to twist the War of the Magi into some cuddlefest instead

Most complaints I've seen are about how rng dependant it is rather than how long it would take, there are people who completed their relics day 1 while some have barely seen any atma drops. It's not a long grind it's just pure luck.

Im fine with tomes being the second step. However I hope tomes are not a step in the future.
