The current system does exactly that. There is a segregation of players already. You have players who hit 60 before 3.5 and those that didn't. At least a segregation of 8hr a day players and 2hr a day players would put players in similar skill sets. Which I have no problem with and actually desire.

I see no reason at all to put 2hr and 8hr a day players together. Those are vastly different playstyles. But a player who just started playing again versus one who's been playing may or may not have the same playstyle. And even though the one who just came back may be behind (like they are now) they'd have the option to quickly catch up.

The system you espouse is flawed and puts very different types of players together. Mine doesn't.
