Please remove the weekly lock out of stuff

SE, Please consider removing the weekly lock out of scripts and other things.

I have recently returned to the game after getting my computer repaired, and dealing with life issues. While we understand there are some people who will rush an expansion and burn content in a week and unsub. I think there are a lot more people who would actually enjoy the game more, to just be able to play it.

I was gone for about 8 months. Upon returning i am refreshed and ready to go and to do "stuff" I quickly set out into a full day off of grinding, I max out my weekly scripts and buy a mere one piece of gear, for my WHM. WOOHOO!!! I think, then I realize, I now have nothing to do until the following week. Oh, and I still need gear for all of my other classes. Oh, right, crafting! Lets go get red scripts! Again, I still need gear for multiple classes.

I think SE, this is your way of putting limits into the game that forces people to have long lasting subscriptions.

Maybe I am part of the minority, but I would personally enjoy the game much much more if I could focus on doing stuff ,which for me, means having the best gear possible, to have the best chance of success, instead of just hoping for the best.

Again, please consider this, because it seems more like a job, then fun, as we must schedule and plan out EXACTLY how we are going to level, and what we are going to level, instead of just playing the game and having fun.

The purpose of weekly lockouts is basically to prevent players from themselves, so they don't grind everything immediately and then complain there's nothing left to do. It's also valuable for more casual players so they know they don't need to play the game full time to keep up with the Joneses. That said, I don't think it would hurt to have a cumulative lockout system of some kind, so if someone leaves for a few months they could catch up with everyone else. I don't know exactly what that would look like, but it doesn't interfere (much) with the good that weekly lockouts do.

Seven weeks for a Shire weapon. What a joke. At this point in ARR people could just do the weekly World of Darkness quest to get the Encrypted Tomestone.

So the one thing that could hold my attention until Stormblood, trying to clear the Creator, is now out of question. I've not even bothered capping my tomes anymore since I discovered that.

Instead of "forcing me to sub" this will actually push me away as there's no way I'm wasting two months of play time just to get a damn weapon before I do what I actually want to.

Sophia weapons are i255, Zurvan weapons are i265. Get one of those, then learn A10S and A11S to get a tomestone and gobdip. Don't use the lockout as a reason to avoid doing stuff when there's a way around that lockout, or gear that is just as strong available from other places.

I'm pretty sure they've removed the weekly lockout on Alex NM...? So you can get the weapon within 7 runs of Soul of the Creator NM - in case I am mistaken and missreading ths right now the game still offers you Zurvan weapons which are having an even higher ilvl than the Shire ones. If you truely want to get into raiding, there are options beside Shire...
If you're only intrested in an "easy" way, Savage might not be content that you'll actually enjoy

I don't believe the gear lockout on NM is gone. If it is, I'm sitting on 5 gears for no reason lol.

While that would be pretty stupid, it still leaves lockout free ex-primals to get weapons of around the same ilvl...

    It's a buisness model.

There's a reason they make a restriction from my perspective they keep the game in balance:

    Examples:

    Scriptures
currently help maintain a balance in content so that other content can be used by players helping queue times. It also helps prevent an inflation or market crash for items on the market board.

Note: it keeps diversity as well so that dungeons can be used to farm gear or seals for more content. They have raised limits on some and gear can vary from different sources keeping the game fun.

    For turn in of red scripts;

Keeps the game balance as well from the crafting side as well.

    Raids:
There has to be some type of balance to maintaining Hardcore gamer's from overwhelming new / casual players.

From a business perspective: yes it helps maintain subscriptions which helps support the company. If the quality of the game is great they should be rewarded as well. ( Business major)

They have already made raised some caps so for now it seems its well balance until the next expansion comes around were they can lift the current and focus on new content. At least that's how it's been int he past.

It's not just a business model, though it absolutely is. The lockouts are in place to help prevent player burnout.

The weekly caps are going to be lifted, probably in 3.57 which is later this month. Ease back in. There's still TONS of stuff for you to do.

    Alternative ways to gear up.

    Weapons.
    Lowest to Highest.

IL 235 PVP or POTD 4k Wolf Marks or exchanging a 30/30 Aetherpool

IL 255 Sophic(Extreme) or POTD trade in the i235 POTD weapon and 60/60 aetherpool

Gear Wise, it's so much easier now.

i235 PVP gear(Which is decent for something to start with)

I265 RNG gear with random secondary stats from Diaden

i250 Proto-type gear which is unlimited, just get people interested in doing said content.

i260 from weekly tomes and 1 item a week through Dun Scaith

i270 savage content, unlimited, just bluntly get good, gear that can handle the content and you can gear up to your heart's content.

Honestly at this point one could say that skill is being rewarded for gearing up, if you want to gear up all your jobs, now you have a chance, just do Savage Alexander and get all the gear.

As for scrips, doesn't need to be changed, they added achievement main tools for DOL/DOH so you can skip those, as for the gear, if you made gil you could get the HQ version that is DOL, DOH, meaning you only need to get 1 set of each for all classes and at most you might have to work on getting the scrips for the secondary tools.

Overall no changes need to be made, what needs to change are peoples tunnel vision in terms of options, when there are actually a wide variety of options for people to take to gear up, you just have to take the time to realize your options before focusing on the limitations.
