no, if they fail in pve, I doubt they win in pvp, maybe if they outnumber or use dirty trick, but you re right, that s why pvp mmo is so friendly

the instance part doesn't apply to this game where craft gear are stronger (with the next HQ system), instance can give player the temporary use until they get better wep but will not be the best

I disagree that complaining on the forum won't do anything to whoever said that on page one.
And I "agree" that player ethics that were in ffxi, despite most ffxi players being elitists unless they could control themselves, are not in FFXIV sadly. I would put up with elitist over rude linkshells overcamping acting like this is WoW anyday. My own LS was no stranger to this last month when trying to get keys for the coffer. Long story short 3 days later their moronantics started to show when required strategy set in and that pushed me over the edge. It was bad enough the morals/ethics they had clearly came from something u might find on xbox live or people that play wow, but being stupid enough to fail at a dungeon 10 times and not alter strategy one single bit pushed me over the edge with them. How they're the biggest LS on the server baffles me. The leader is quite possibly the most braindead of them all lol.

If you don't say anything ever nothing will change. At least he/she posted about it rather then doing a /shout 10 people may read and forget about 10 minutes later. Here while it may be small maybe "some" people will see and think. Most won't understand what is being said and brush it off for not being able to grasp it *shrug*. But if 5 people out of 100 start to change the butterfly effect commences ^_^.

I don't remember being asked politely by others about hunting NM's in the same area as I in FFXI....

This is what happens when you leave the comfort of your single console RPG's and enter the world of MMO's. It's the way of the real world. Law of the jungle. Don't like it? Figure out how to over come it.

If 99% of people are going to be polite and 1% are going to do anything they can to take what they want, that 1% will win everytime. Kind of reminds me of the real world and the occupy movement.

Sitting around and whining about it won't change anything. Figure out a way to effect change in that instance. Force that new group out, make them feel like they are wasting their time by being there. compete, win.

    Otherwise, "You are the 99%"

so we left the camp and later we form a party for another NM and when we there framing the same party came and they take over the camp again with the same way.

we used to have a good players in ffxi with no such bad ppl. what happing in ffxiv is they going to spoil it?, is SE going to do anything about this?

hope they do something about this, cos i from that time don't like to camp for NM anymore.
I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. This is common in most online games. In any form: It's called competition.

In a game where players struggle to better themselves amongst the masses of other likewise competent players: this is somewhat traditional. Player X feels he or she wants a slice of pie and is entitled a chance just as much as player Y.

Sadly what you experiences here is a small taste of what usually could be a lot worse. It depends on the players. If they want an item your after and don't feel like waiting then you best outclaim them.

Either way SE can't and won't do anything to those players because they are simply "playing the game" like you are and are technically entitled to everything you are.

Trust me I've asked GMs about this in FFXI when I did Open Claim EG content with my LS mates. They told me the players trying to outclaim us deserved the claim just as much as we did and there's nothing they could do about it.

Moral of this story: Kindness is a courtesy NOT a requirement nor can it be enforced by the company as such as it enfringes on the rights of both parties fair use of the software which is in itself against the TOS

i said in another thread they need to have a random claim timer. the lag really hurts people when people over camp you.

You're missing the point. SE can't fix human nature. Neither can a "butterfly effect" on these forums. If people want something bad enough greed will win their hearts motivations.

Lets not confuse the issue: The topic of this thread is a debate about human nature/psyche NOT MMO policies or How the creators of said policies should communistically enforce the personal wishes of "individuals" on the masses.

Some ppl are douchebags. Some ppl aren't douchebags but don't consider a "claim war" as a offense. They see it as sportsmanlike challenge (aka fun).

To believe otherwise is to presume a innate knowledge of another human beings personal inner motivations.

In other words: Impossible force meets impossible force. Comply or not? Struggle or give up?

This happened all the time in FFXI; I don't see the problem. If you can't take the heat, don't live somewhere without AC... At least I think that's how that expression goes.

If you do that, you'll grab the claim 100% of the time.

I had this exact scenario happen to my party today in Natalan. Because the intruders were Japanese, and nobody in our party was, we couldn't outclaim them due to the lag. They would claim the Sentry, and of course all of the surrounding mobs would link them as well. Extremely rude and inconsiderate behavior.

This game has open world content. Thats how that works. In ff11 did people leave pop camps for others? No. Why are the crying about it now?
