I'm sorry that you were bullied by another ls...esp. since we are on the same server. While I agree that competition is okay and the Open World NM's are really more a '1st to claim 1st to get' , you did try to communicate with the other party/ls and they ignored you. Once you moved on to another camp and they followed you and started out claiming you again however, that is where I draw the line...that IS in game harassment, and it can be reported. No person or ls is allowed to purposely stalk another ls.

Note: I might have missed what mobs you were camping BUT there is a Night/Day rotation that many LS's use to make good use of their time on the Open World Large NM's ...so if you were Killing the Great Buffalo and then moved to Ureaus and so did they, they weren't so much 'following you' but more 'following the pop timers'. And while still not cool, semi-excusable.

So for those that support competition: Yes, SE has made a balance between Open World/open claim mobs and instanced/party only claim mobs. If this was just a simple 'I was camping a mob and then another group stole him from me' then I could understand the 'put your big kid panties on' attitude. But it was MORE than that. After her party got outcamped they moved and were FOLLOWED....that is very uncool. And depending on how they were followed, considered in-game stalking and harassment.

let me start by saying, I do not camp mobs so I am not saying I do it therefore it is ok(though im sure some people will think otherwise)


but lets face facts, the camp does not belong to who gets there first, it does not have your name on it, just because you want it doesnt mean you have a say in who gets what and where and when.

This is especialy true with notorious monster camps, since there is only a single mob to farm.


Now lets be honest, if its an exp camp...we can all understand the "we are using this camp can you move over to the next one" attitude, thats just good ettitquete for exp camping
but those rules usualy do not apply to notorious monsters.


When it comes to them its obviously going to be first come first server, as far as who claims the mob, not who was standing there first.

Competition is part of the "there is only one of these" deals, and I just can not see why people get so upset when someone else has to go after something they want and they feel entitled to be allowed to do it first and ofrce others to wait, just because thats how they think.


There is of course nothing wrong with being nice about it, props to you if your willing to let others finish their farming before you begin yours, it doesnt make you any better then the people not willing to wait, its just how you are.

Yes, it's first come / first serve, but there's still a line to be drawn in etiquette.

I don't mind competition in a game, as long as it's against like minded people, asshats just ruin what could be a great experience.

To the OP: Sorry this happened to you, on days like that I just find something else to do and hope they get their stuff and clear out Don't let them ruin all your fun though, go back another day and give it your best.^^

Was the group followed from 1coffer in zaharak to another? or was it a port to an entirely different area?

There are a thousand possibilities of why the party moved, and more than half of them could have been attributed to coincidence, not stalking.

What it comes down to is:

Well which is why I said 'depending on how they were followed...'

Outclaim them and they move on to another chest in same area you follow and outclaim them there= stalking/harassment

Outclaim them and they move to a completely different area and you follow again?= Well if you didn't know they were there dumb luck ...if you did stalking/harassment.

Do you need to be 'nice' in the game? No.
Does it serve even 'hardcore' players/linkshells better to be polite/nice? Yes

People will respect the polite and helpful linkshells and players WAYYY more than the jerks. It's up to us all who we would like to be associated with and how we'd like to be known on our server.

Again at OP, I'm sorry this happened to you. But if it ever happens again, try to find something else fun to do, talk to the leaders of that ls, find others to support you (like other ls's people in game) OR if they are doing something that actually can be easily proven to be in-game bullying, report them.

It's the courteous thing to wait. However there is no law, or rule that states that you have to take turns on any monster. MMORPGs are about competition. Not condoning the actions taken by the other LS, but I can't feel sorry for you either.

it is more courteous to take turns in this instance(especialy since you can make sure it dies that much quicker with 2 groups)

having to wait for what could be "hours" for a group to finish their farming of a NM is a pretty rediculous thing to expect anyone to have to do, especialy after taking the time to form a group and go out usualy.

we used to have a good players in ffxi with no such bad ppl. what happing in ffxiv is they going to spoil it?, is SE going to do anything about this?

Ill bet you never went after a Krakken club. Or pretty much any NM in 11 for that matter. A 30 second repop or whatever it is in this game is nothing to be upset over. Honestly, you haven't even got a "paper cut's" amount of what it felt like to compete for something. Get angry when something spawns once every 24 hours.
