Slight confusion over the Aliapoh family

If the player talks to Khloe after turning in the weekly journal, Khloe mentions her mother and talks about her in the present tense, so she's still alive. But there's no mention of this mother in the material related to her older sister Zhloe. And the quest introducing her mentions her paying off her family's debts to Rowena, implying that her parents couldn't do it themselves. And with Zhloe constantly joking about how constantly she's on the brink of starvation, and later on talking about how she's the only one who can look after Khloe, I'm not sure how this all adds up?

So is this a case similar to Leveva's mother, where Mama Aliapoh is actually dead/absent despite the in-game text talking about her as if she were still alive/present? Or is she just so incapable of work so Zhloe has to take care of everything?

My question is if Jihli Aliapoh from the Hatching-tide festivities is related to them or not.

Logic doesn't exist for anything even remotely involving Rowena.

It's why she can be at Mor Dhona and Idyllshire, at the same time, all the time.

Hmmmm, in ze German client Khloe doesn't mention her parents at all during book turn in (unless it's for 3 lines, haven't gotten those personally) while the final rank up for Zhloe implied rather clearly that their parents passed away.
Also remember how during the EU fanfest live letter Koji said that the whole Kuro/black Shiro/white name joke in Japanese ended up being lost since no one told him about Zhloe being added on later?

So I guess this falls under "slight inconsistency because lack of communication"

As for Jihli: you know, just because someone happens to share your family name doesn't mean they have to be directly related to you...

But it is certainly a possibility, hence the question.

If they've used the moon-keeper naming conventions as described in the lore book, aliapoh is actually a given name, not a family name. The first name is taken from their mother's given name, and their second name is their personally. Jihli Aliapoh would then have a mother whose surname was (if I understand it right) Jihli, and was given the Aliapoh name at birth. Same for Khloe, her mothers surname would be Khloe, and Aliapoh would have been given to her at birth. It's a really common Miqo name.

Aliapoh is the "smith" of keeper names.

Once there was one Aliapoh that had say 5 offspring. 4 of which were female. Those 4 had 5 kittens aswell. Suddenly theres 20 aliapohs in just one generation lap.

And the name aliapoh could have been around for thousands of years. Who knows how many Aliapohs are around.

A better real world example would be the Nguyen name from vietnam. That name is about 800 years old and has over time become the surname of 40% of the vietnamese population.

That is actually one of the errors that made it into the lore book, the entry in the naming conventions sticky on the lore forum is still correct. (they accidentally used some rejected pre 1.0 notes in the book. Irc keeper names were at one point planned to have a family name first pattern. Might also explain why keeper NPC'S are the only ones to always have their full name displayed)

None of which answers whether there is a family connection or not. I am more than aware of the possibility and various probabilities of both a yes and a no answer based on family names alone. What I'm not aware of is if any of the previous appearances of Jihli hinted or even explicitly made a connection. So far the only valid answer it appears we can make is that we don't know. Yu Unless someone knows something more, hopefully some lore gets released at some point that confirms or at least hints one way or another.

It just seems like Aliapoh is a common last name, since there are others throughout the realm. The Miqo'te from the archer questline is an Aliapoh too.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
