    Crafting Circle idea

so, myself (a noob at crafting) and a friend (not a noob at crafting) were discussing an idea I threw out about how crafters could gain party exp.

just for the foundation of the idea, we came up with this:
    • new abilities would be added, including group chained abilities.
    • there would be a circle buff similar to parties, but appropriate to the skills involved. the exp. portion of the bonus will depend on the number of unique classes in the circle. the more, the better.
    • a line of items exclusive to being crafted within a circle of 4 to 8.
    • group leves that involve the inclusion of DoW/DoM for protection while crafting in dangerous areas under dangerous circumstances. the DoM/DoW classes involved will receive a substantial Spirit Bond bonus for every level mob killed, as well as exp.
    • a new area will be created to cater to crafting needs and basic supplies. any crafters inside this area will automatically receive a beneficial "aura" bonus similar to the current use of advanced facilities. this does stack with the circle bonus.
    • group leves that involve participation of ANY 4 unique crafts. the combination of the crafts will determine the item to be synth'd. when contributing to these leves, special abilities become available. each craft involved will be in charge of creating a part that when combined at the end, and checked for quality assurance, dtermines the amount of exp. gained for the group as a "chunk" of xp. time is everything, but craftsmanship is always remembered. you will have a quality control % rating as you progress through these leves. this rating has a minor, but noticable effect on the outcome of future endeavors. this % rating is also available for anyone to view.

----an example of the types of abilities would be: ( NOT serious ideas )----
    • "Helping Hand" - allows you to greatly improve the the Control of the crafter to the right of you for the next 3 processes. you lose 10 durability in the process.
    • "Sacrifice" allows you gift a 25% durability bonus to another crafter of the same class by taking a 25% quality hit on your current synth.
    • "The Masons Secret" reverses the last 3 steps you made

anyway...I'm tired now, but I wanted to throw that out there because it sounded cool to me, but like i said, I'm noob at that stuff, so it could all be laughable. if it made you laugh, well that's cool too. /discuss

I've had a similar idea before after seeing the Full Party Buff and thinking why couldn't DoL/DoH get this but apply the 10% to their control/perception or something like that.
Also one thing I noticed yesterday, a friend and I were going out to Grid to hit some gathering up We formed a pt to tele out there and never dropped the pt when we got there so we could chat while we did it and not disturb anyone else, got to the first tree and he started farming while I changed equip but when I went to farm there was nothing there, thought this was weird but moved to the next tree which we both hit at the same time. After first gather it said 5 attempts remaining but after 2nd gather it said 2 attempts remaining, that's when I realized that if you are it a pt it counts each node between the pt, this is counter productive imo. So a group can't gather together, FPB doesn't give anything but HP/MP/ACC/MACC, no exp bonus but SE felt that gathering in a pt was some kind of advantage and nerfed it so to say. I think this really needs to be looked into.

They already had a group crafting concept early on, for whatever reason they never released it. Probably because they had to keep changing crafting so much. The example was a bunch of culinarians working together to create a wedding cake

On the one hand, that's really lame. On the other hand... if it gives progress to your luminary, that is very very awesome.

Yes, crafting needs to be more social. Sitting around and chatting, making stuff. As it is, crafting is lonely.

I can see a gathering of weavers now:

"Oh, Betty, you simply have to try Ansil's peach cobbler," Grenda said.
Betty dropped her sewing needle. "Oh, toot, where did it go now?" She looked around. "Where are my glasses?"
"On your head, Betty," Ansil said. "Grenda, I asked Missy to bring by the rest of the cobbler I gave her last Sunday."
"Oh, I can't wait." Betty finished sewing her napkin pattern. "Oh! I've gone up a level."
