    you are far off the point of the thread, from what I see either:

    1. you havent read anything but just post
    2. you read everything and fail to understand the point of the thread or fail in thinking
    3. you fail to see that this is a battle system fix which havent anything to do with the thing you mention

    What you are suggesting is simply making one of the damage mitigation skills to be renamed as blocking/parrying and have a set amount of damage that it can absorb, like Stoneskin or Phalanx.     Ok let me make this clear. I am saying the blocking is fine. So i disagree with what you were saying. Increase the block rate of couse but to move to your system i do not think it is best for the game.

    Also i was obviously responding to this point: "Just another the way to play, in my belief when you are in combat you need to always be active"

    So what i am saying is to be active and have fun, focusing on blocking in NOT the way to go.

    Don't kill me i just disagree with you. I didnt fail at reading or thinking i just do not like the idea.

    if you only say the bold text above then that should be enough because the thing you take as example are complete different with what you said.

    You say the fun is fun and dont want to focus on block but you talk about Ninja Gaiden & DMC, the 2 game that player either focus on evade or block the mobs attack before strike back (DMC have block & counter)

    this is from self exp, as I had encounter the similar system in some games so even if FFXIV is different from other game, the different wont be that big that I need to learn it from scratch
    Im sure DMC and NG main focus is the kills and big monsters but W/E. I see you just are gonna yell fail if someone disagrees with you so ill just leave.

    Have you played with the new battle system to know if it will interfere or not? Do you know how busy will you be handling combos and enmity generating skills to know you will have the time to put up or down your shield arm? Are you able to do other skills with the system you are suggesting should be implemented?
