    Truly new tank type

    The role has had the absolute worst reception in general. Why is that? Simply put it\\'s boring all the tank type although slightly different follow the same premise. How can we fix this ? How about a tank type that has never been done. How about something that looks good and makes the player feel like the massive threat the boss or mobs want dead.How can we do this ? Here is 1 idea .

    a new job sorcerer - instead of a bit and wait till the boss or mob comes Thier also can be gravity magic so they literally pull a short distance then being magic they would of course have lots of aoe hits and a single hit range attack to start they would focus on Shields rather then gear and at the cost of damage Thier attacks would be instant putting the speed the same as any other tank they could get a stance that makes them get the normal cast time and become dps. Of course I diddnt lay out every skill that I believe the devs can do on Thier own. As for a weapon why not give us what we have been asking for for a long time . Main weapon - tattoo rune or gauntlet off hand amulet or ring or ear ring . This makes the role look like a weaponless caster not go mention the potential look of a rune tattoo..Think Fullmetal alchemist. That should be a good example.

    I wouldn't say worst reception depending on how you use it, gear you use, and your playing style. (ex how you use your CD and other skills based on enmity in between ) If anything there are players who THINK they can tank that give the role a negative expectation. While Sorcerer would be a nice skill set, it's mainly a magic user which would make them squishy. IF you wanted to incorporate dark arts, such as gravity, Perhaps give it to a DRK which is a balanced magic type in a way. Kind of reminds me of FFXI Rune fencer type in that case. Not sure how the glove would work for enmity weapon...If you look at DRK pattern one shows trough Dark matter in a form from their gauntlet. Also you can just edit original post to by pass character limit on post.

    Any tank lover wouldn't say worst reception myself at first included . But the fact is it's true they even decided against making a tank role for storm blood for that exact reason. As much as I would like to say it's a matter of skill or gear it's really a matter of if it's boring or not to people wanting to try new things.

    Ugghh auto fill again ... The devs decided against making a new tank because the only people to use the last added role the most were already tanks before. In short no new tanks means it's a waste to make something we won't use . The number one reason people don't run tank is it's boring to them . So I just perpose they take what they know people like and put it in the role that way u attract new ppl.

    Try to take a step back and look at the wider picture. Nobody is saying tanks are bad or the current jobs are bad . Nobody is questioning skill this has nothing to do with cool downs or loadouts so please actually read for the point or as best u can for it to avoid unnecessary comments thank you.

    Oh Jesus this cell is killing me ... Nobody is saying tanks are bad or the current jobs are bad nobody is questioning skill or gear this isn't about cool downs or loadouts . It's about making something new to attract new ppl.

    You are 100% off topic this has nothing to do with using the current jobs. Isn't about making something new to attract new ppl. New as in not already in the game. I get u may already have had a bad day and want to vent but this isn't about any of what you are going on about . As for the reception of tanks it's not an opinion. It's fact. It was written in the storm blood q&a as well as said at the live release. It's just life . We might not like it but we have to accept it.

    I mainly tank to farm as a secondary role. As for making a new role for Stormblood...what job would actually tie in to the story? Not much to work with in terms of roles. Also most tanks keep it to simple rotations depending on the gear and skill of DPS. If they are under gear they have little choice but to work with the shortest rotation for enmity.

    Example
    DRK has abisial drain for one that few DRK's actually know how to incorporate into rotation , I've seen use along with Soul eater and stick to simple rotations which can make it a bit better or salted earth. However with soo many over gear players now a days it's harder for players to test the waters just because they are over whelmed. Once your on par it makes it sooo much easier. I love DRK and PLD with full rotations on play, and I've played this game for a long time. Besides with new level cap it also means new skills. It will be interesting once those changes. Also some people are enjoy to tank or be able to learn new rotations and can be creative. Others may just not really be into it.

    I can play all 3 roles, but I find healing extremely boring even though I'm a healing/dps hybrid. I can play the role like an expert, however I only do it to have variety within my circle of friends and rotate roles.

    See were I'm heading with this? Same applies to tanks some find it exciting and creative while others may see it as boring. It's all about creativity. Just a perspective from a Vet Tank / DPS role. But hey Sorcerer sounds nice, but as a tank role I feel it would be a bit more towards the DPS role. Maybe support like a Time mage?
