I'm a PS4 player with a keyboard, who probably runs his mouth more than most in my own FC. That being said runs are generally the same for me like most. I'll say hello sometimes, other times I won't even if everyone else does.
It's normally go go go unless something of note happens, I'll try to throw out something witty, sometimes I get a response, sometimes I don't.

<_< Usually I don't even type. I just /egreeting - missable if you have emote messages off in your chat. Otherwise, I'm usually just healing and DPSing too much to talk. I don't mind talking, but people tend to start standing in AoEs and other difficulties once that happens.

Console users ruined sociability of a MMORPG. Not because they are jerks. But because like the last poster said. They have to switch to a keyboard and put down a friggin controller.

I'm generally too busy healing and dpsing to talk.

That said, I likely won't be seeing the people in DF again so I don't really care to talk to them. Sometimes I am talking during a run, except I'm responding to something in Novice Network or talking to a friend, and not using party chat.

I say hello at the beginning and goodbye/nice job at the end, and I'll respond if someone says something directed at me, but for the most part I don't say anything. I'm a slow typer and I'm typically healing, so I don't really have time for it.

Reasons voice chat doesn't work well;

• I don't share others taste in music.
• Others don't share my taste in music.
• Teen vocabulary is laughably small.
• There are only so many insults I can hear thrown around before muting chat.
• There is only so much abusive child speak I an endure before muting.
• Lack of profanity filters would get old in less than 30 seconds.
• Hearing my voice instead of what I imagine Kos' voice to sound like, would be jarring.

Agreed! The people I spend most of my time in voice chat with are in my age group because we can express ourselves without cursing every other word. We curse, but understand the power of 1 very well-placed f-bomb.

I always find it interesting to hear what everyone sounds like! My idea of how people should sound is usually WAY off, though...

i don't see any problems with people and parties who don't talk or even say hi
what annoys if the party doing something wrong and no one tries to say something about what we doing wrong
or no one replys at all

I think it mainly comes from all the dungeons being cross servers, people won't probably see each others so they don't want to socialize :/
On older games, you had to know the people from your server to things so it helped a lot

I don't think it is caused consoles or cross server parties but simply the nature of the game. The old games that people often quote as being more sociable used to be super slow and allowed a lot more time to type while you were waiting for your next action. On FFXIV (or any modern MMO really) any time you spend typing is time you could have been hitting your next skill or spell.
