Why would a BLM meld mind in gear? Does this game do a poor job in explaining stats?

I asked but I did not get a clear answer so I just advised how to remove them. My friend was asking about this in a private ls to another and this was the convo:

Yeah, but they'd have to actually lok at that to know
it doesn't say "Mind does this" when you pick up BLM

I saw that BLM in wall today in expert roulette before reset, fully upgraded shire, with mind V melds.

It seems pretty self explanatory for most and I would think anyone actually expecting a more in-depth explanation would have the sense/know-how to find online class guides.

Maybe just make a one-time popup reminder when making a new character "Read your dang tooltips!"?

A friendly reminder to read tooltips would help yes. I wouldn't mind either at the character creation screen, when a player picks their class it gives a plain as day window in the description of the classes primary stat and secondary stat. Same with the job crystal too. After its lore blurb of "This magic rock contains the memories of blahblahblah of blahblahblah ago" It then tells the jobs primary and secondary stats.

Then again the person might have been trolling for a laugh, but you never really know for certain.

What level are we talking here? If they're still leveling it might just be to speed up the binding process to try for better materia.

I honestly want to assume they were doing that just to screw with people. The easier it is to replace things like that, and the game just throws Vs at you now, the easier it is to sit around looking like a mess while having necessary stats when needed.
Though I'm probably giving too much credit.

In this case, does it really matter? I see a lot of people with nothing melded at all pretty often. Maybe he just wants slightly stronger physicks? lol

Yeah, the attribute tool tips are pretty self-explanatory.

If you don't understand the difference between Healing magic and attack magic, on the other hand...I think you have bigger problems.
