    [Request] Add gear lock

It happened to me several times already, one being recently: I sold/GC-traded an item I intended to keep and use as glamour.
Why is this, with our glamour system as it is, requiring the original item we want to glamour in our inventories, still not a thing to allow us to lock gear of our choice, so it can't be sold/traded in or won't even show up on the sell/turn in for GC menu?

I get this is entirely my own fault, not paying attention and just clicking through all my items on that list, but it would still be a much appreciated convenience feature.
Some gear pieces require extensive farming or a lot of gil to aquire, yet the game doesn't even give us a way to protect them from accidental selling.

If im not mistaken, they're going to improve on the glamour system for 4.0

I think it's no longer going to be locked to the item, but instead locked to the class. I might be terribly mistaken though.

What I did to stop this from occurring was:

    a) set all armor/weapons to go into my inventory instead of the armory chest. Any items I plan to keep I manually put in the armory chest.

    and

    b) Set the filter on the gc list to only show items in my inventory. In this way none of my gear set gear is ever at risk of being accidentally turned in.

The gc turn in page remembers your setting so you only have to set it once and having items appear in inventory instead of armory makes managing gear much much simpler for me. Give it a try.

I have it set so it won't show gear set items, losing those would be really terrible.
It was only a glamour item, nontheless annoying, but nothing that can't be replaced. It's more a suggestion for some added convenience while turning in items to GC than a complaint.

If you have some gear set slots open, you can "lock" your items by adding them to a gearset. A bit of a roundabout way of doin it perhaps, but it should do the job nicely.

That doesn't always work, because it only recognizes the gear set if the item is in your armoury chest. But the chest won't hold anywhere near the amount of items you can have in gear sets, so any others that overflow into your inventory aren't recognized as being in a gear set, even if they've been assigned to one. (I've got several cosmetic gear sets, but there are some gear categories where the chest can't hold more than a couple of them at a time along with all my real gear.)

Then again, it's possible Stormblood will fix that issue if they increase the Armoury Chest significantly enough. (We know they're going to be increasing it at least somewhat, but I haven't heard if they've said how much.)

I think a sell lock would be a good idea. Quite a few other games have it and it can come in handy for marking important items.

I just tested this now, I placed my Alexendrian Earrings of Fending in my inventory. Still part of my gearset but not the armoury chest.
Went to go trade stuff in, and it doesn't show up.

So it would stand to reason that making a glamour gearset would save you from accidentally turning things in when you don't pay attention to what you click on.

So if you have items on a retainer or other jobs that you have actually "locked" by using them on the character, those items do NOT show up?

Items on a retainer won't show up for hand in at the GC counter in any case.

Quite honestly, unless for some reason you are constantly applying an item's graphics to what you are wearing, you are better off storing the glamour item on a retainer so you cannot lose it. Take it out, apply it to something, and put it back.

There is absolutely no reason to think that. It's even come up constantly recently and it was a straight up, 100% no.

There is no apostrophe in Au Ra.
Stop adding one three years later.
