The translation is a little lost from Japanese to English remember that...But even so, don't you think they would benifit from giving us patch-dates they can keep? I believe one of the first things Yoshida wanted to work on was "gaining players' trust", and releasing patches on time would definitely help in that regard.
Starting every Producer's Letter with "I'm sorry, but I have some bad news..." is definitely not the way to go.

I believe one of the first things Yoshida wanted to work on was "gaining players' trust", and releasing patches on time would definitely help in that regard. They've also been adding in player requests enhancement from patch to patch...in a way those changes take up more time but they are trying to appeal to as many players as possible.
And we have to understand that they are essentially bandages these changes on the old system. We all know the database back end is in disarray...a bad database and continual bandage only makes it more complex with each patch.
They recognized this and needed to redo the game. Until 2.0 just expect delays. With the number of changes they do post and don't post that is released from patch to patch also. And while they stretch out the end of this current storyline I wouldn't expect too much content. It'll be just enough to wet our appetites into 2.0.
In the development world we always add 2 weeks after the fact...cause something always comes up. So just assume when SE says they expect it towards this time of month add another 1/2 month. Cheers!

Oh dear, my editing kinda backfired there lol. Sorry!
I never expect anything until I see full patch note disclosure. They usually don't post that unless release is imminent.
And why do you care? he can do whatever he wants.
As I said at the start of this thread. I loved How Yoshi said it won't affect patch 1.21 XP In 3 months he will tell the same thing: I'm sorry we have to delay our patch due to testing bla bla bla.
Hmm considering games are part of my career from a psychological stand point, and aside from that it is my choice to sit here on release day of the patch to get the full effect from peoples reactions, I think that perhaps you can just go away ^_^. Not everyone has close family like you do or in a perfect relationship. And before you try to say something stereotypical no games have nothing to do with why I have lost interest in things with her. So oye vey. Games are more then just playing for me they are my passion hence why what I do with MSFT is for a living :P. I'm happy with my life honestly despite other setbacks lmao. If your asking if I sit at home and neglect things that I "SHOULD" be doing well the then answer is no :P. Deep down I never wanted to go in the first place, why? Well I dont know you so itll stop at that lol.
And yes ago I know, sadly people react more to negativity when attention is needed to a detail more then a simple hey and hand on their shoulder like the mentalist.

he said it won't affect 1.21 because he has a seperate team working on it. And when 1.2 is implimented they will help with 1.21 or move on to 1.22. There is many layers of development happening at the same time. It's not the entire team working on 1.20. then move to 1.21 and so on.
If 1.21 is "Delayed" I won't be becaues of the 1.2 timeline it will be because they ran into issues and are not done yet

When Yoshi says it won't affect patch 1.21 he's saying that because the changes of 1.20 don't affect the work that they are doing in 1.21.
The patches are substantive enough that they don't need to complete one patch to work on the next patch. It is probable that 1.21 is already well into development.
Of the patches to date I think while 1.20 may lack in "content" however you define that word (I think there's substantial content in this next patch to be honest "refined content"). 1.20 thus far will probably the most game changing patch we have to date since essentially we'll be getting essentially all new classes. And the changes they are implementing affect almost every other system, in the game...enemies, leves, and gear all these major game elements are being affected by this patch.
AH features and Functional party seach(Crosses fingers).
Without a doubt the two biggest complaints about this game from day one beta.
I was there at 1.2 when it was solved.
You sir, are an oracle.Well, 10 days of 11/24 is today. So expect it for this wednesday or friday...
When you see an announcement of Wada with a gun saying "Shome the moneh!" then you can be sure 1.20 time has come. I doubt the patch will pop before the confirmation of billing status and starting date.
