Purchase Outfit/armor from shop

I purchased some armor for my character who looked pretty horrible in her latest gear (black mage) and now find out that the armor you buy don't really keep the stats, so is that armor just for 'show' ? I never log in to stand there just for show or think if I dance naked in pixel form everybody will stand and admire me.

Just want to make sure, is that purchased armor just for show? In most games you make your armor with the stats look like the armor you bought.

Theres a level 50 quest in Mor Dhona that unlocks the "glamour" system. This allows you to change the appearance of your gear while keeping the good stats. You have to be able to equip the gear you want to glamour(so not many options for heavy armor on your black mage for instance), and it cant be higher level then what you actually have on. The game has many sets of appearance-only gear, and theyre all class neutral and level 1 to make this easier.

Thanks for reply. I shall try the glamour quest. I could not believe when I got that Black Mage Armor where the collar goes till under my nose and I look like I borrowed the outfit from a fat big guy. How hard is it decent armor to make in a game that is in every other respect so detailed and pretty! (In one game recently I saw split naked people showing everything, really. So nobody is asking for that) but they are not shy to put in all the little kiddies that are so friendly with big guys or that teenage guy that is so thick with Cid and they touch hands etc, so why be so shy to give the females decent armor.

Glamour it.... as suggested It turns the gear you hate into anything you want for a specific class.
