Best BiS for BLM starting out for salavge

    http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/ZOFM

This question is for my friend wondering if there comes a point where stacking spell speed dies off and wondering what to put in relic. She feels diabolic bottoms of casting is good to use so to offset the lack of accuracy, put it in the relic but is unsure if the relic should be accuracy/ spell speed or accuracy/ crit. She wants to try get into salvage and wants the best mix she has access too.

    i won't put acc on a relict/anima...
    beside healer ones maybe...

Anima should go for crit/ss imo .___.

edit: I would adjust to something like this
    http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/ZOKR

resetting Anima to full crit/ss and change legs to shire for acc cap.

if you do so your stats will change from:

    to

a bit more int, acc, crit & lp but a bit less ss... with just minor changes

Spell speed does not really die off, however, every 26-27 points there comes a 25-26 point gap where SS is useless. This comes every time you reach the next .01 threshold. So, for example, if you get a .01 increase at 1000 SS, until you reach 1026/1027 depending on the cycle, you will gain no increase to your GCD/recast and thus it may be better to stack Crit if you can't reach the next threshold. The 1000 crit is purely hypothetical, so do not use that as a baseline!!!!

Despite the above, SS is easily the best stat for BLM and should be stacked as much as possible unless you reach the maximum and cant break another threshold. There is a very good BiS set on the BLM Sanctuary thread.

To concur with Neela, absolutely by no means should there be accuracy on the relic. Max ss and max crit. There is more than enough accuracy on the current gear to the get to 600 threshold anyways.

currently all her left shire except body is 260, can upgrade 3, and she has some accessories at 260 but has 5 books so she can upgrade one of those. Besides neck, is any the caster proto stuff worth using? and what should she upgrade first on the left? pants hands feet and leave the hat for next week?

Reason she kept these coins because she had no idea what to do and did not want to waist them. BLM was more of a secondary to MCH and now that MCH is bis as best she can, she wants to do the same to BLM.

really not that easy to answer this question because it's about your overall combination of stats - neck is BiS for dmg stats and a good choice, but you can get the bracelet as well if you need more acc to save acc on left parts for more dmg stats. so its the question of individual setup if the brace is worth it.

in general higher ilvl means higher main stats so allthough the caster diabolic armor is great in sub-stats i exchanged it several weeks ago as well on my smn. about the upgrades I think it won't make a big difference which one first... i would go for the most expansive ones like body/pants -> head/arms/shoes -> belt – but thats just a personal opinion ^^

she told me to show this:
    http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/ZPSQ
basically she wants to know what the difference of that is, having much higher spell speed and lower other things, that high spell speed being possible from using the pants in dun while using a spell speed + accuracy staff to offset it.

Thanks for your views it did make her think and this is what she concluded:

"I will use a pure spell speed/crit staff with the acc. pants. When I go in content where I do not need acc. I just use the V3 pants for more crit and spell speed then what I gave Ama to show"

yeah mostly one big part (armor or pants) with acc should be enough until 3rd Savage stage (a11s) for the 4th you might change some minor gear parts for the cap. ^^

Best of luck to your friend than : )

This is my current build with shire & proto gear http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/ZSSR
It gives me 1208 SS which is a good cut off point BLM SS Tiers, 606 ACC, and 284 Piety (for some reason Ariyala's site doesn't calculate piety right). And, there are a few slots free to pop in more crit if your friend wants.

Uh, it should be said that the 284 PIE thing is only a personal choice. You NEED 264 to do your full opener. But that is achieved by having a sch or an ast in the party. Or by being a dunesfolk lala.

Also regarding that list posted. The Ultima choker, earrings and ring are BiS. The shire pieces you need are the bracelet and the ring (augmented). Also the hat and boots (shire) are BiS. The only alex pieces needed in the BiS are the coat, the pants and the belt. (replaced easily with the diabolic stuff). You also need the alex gloves, but the shire ones are fine to use until you get them.

You may need to meld some acc instead of some crit to achieve the 592 acc cap. Or use apple strudels, but its better to just meld some acc and use HQ flaugnardes or (if youre strapped for cash) sohm al tarts.
