I assume its going to be like the last event. So I think it will only work with JP accounts.

That depends entirely on what it is. For the maid/butler/fat chocobo campaign I had all three of the magazines shipped to Japan so I could get everything (though that was a nightmare). If they did something like Amazon purchases you could just buy something to be delivered to a friend/family member (I wish I had done that for the magazines as it would have been a hell of a lot cheaper/easier).

I, too, live in Japan, and I am stuck with using an EU account that I made over 10 years ago to play FFXI, while living in Australia at the time. I have tried (even though I knew it was futile) to have my account changed (getting paid from my job in yen, but paying for this game in euros sucks....), and to no surprise I was flat out refused.

I'm ok with having these kinds of cross-company promotions.. just STOP region locking them, and punishing people who move to another country/region for family/work/personal/etc reasons. If I live in Japan, I should be able to have the same rights as anyone with a JP account to participate in the promotion being held in my country of residence

I have a similar problem; I could easily obtain the Japanese codes but have been unable to use Japanese codes several times now, so I know it would be a waste of my money. I wish I'd never switched from my JP FFXI account to this new EU FFXIV account. It's already forced me to use a different PSN account to my normal one (which is also JP) and now I feel like the only person on my server without a cloud

The mess of the previous EU campaign really punished people who travel.

Hey Seferex, it's been a while. Moon here! I ran into the same problem the last time they collaborated with 7-11. I also live in Japan now but was stuck with an Australian account. After researching various methods of transferring into the JP region, I realized there was no way to do it. A flat out transfer refusal from the SE team solidified my decision to start a JP account afresh.

So yes, I get the joy of leveling up all my classes to 60 again. *groan*

On a positive note I got to start the game afresh with my wife. I'm sure Yoshida plans to have more campaigns and collaboration that are either exclusive to Japan or arrive earlier than the rest of the world. Looking back, I'm glad I made the switch early.
