Silver chest farming in PotD, harassed by speedrunners. (More ingored PvE harassment)

So this is something I been meaning to talk about for a while. After seeing a bad thread on the subject I thought I make a more useful one to talk about and maybe make the development team aware of this.

So when the update to PotD was released everyone did it for chests and it was pretty much what I was used in seeing, along with my friend. Well we both stopped doingthem for a while then was shocked people would just rush to the portal and stay there doing nothing. My friend kicked a lot of "speed runners" out of PotD because they refused to cooperate with her. Some went as far as saying "You want chests? fine Ill just afk here because I want to speed run"

What confuses me is why would people eat wasting 15+ minutes of time because they do not get their way? It is playing the game improperly so you would think they would expect the possibility of being kicked? A pair of speed runnerss went as far as killing my two friends by MPK for kicking out the first one, while the second killed them to wipe the run.

I do not understand why SE removes the PvP chat while major toxic acts such as this remains unchecked by development and discouraged in some way. Clearly people think GMs do nothing otherwise it wouldn't be a wide spread problem.

You can report them & action will be taken. Please stop using every topic for a moan about PVP chat. It's *not* the place, nor the time. Serious issues can end up being neglected by derailing the topic.

Does it suck? Yeah, but there are ways to fix it- the problem is the same as running roulettes on duty finder. It's not SE's fault.

Do those experiences you listed suck? Yeah, but I wouldn't call them common. Report them for harassment if they actually did harass you, but ultimately your most potent tool in your arsenal to stop this from happening is to just talk to them at the beginning of the run and ask. Then if you can't come to an agreement, one of you can leave.

I am not shoehorning anything. I am insulted that some kind of drastic action was taken like removing chat from a chat mode and not addressing bigger problems.

PvE is more toxic then PvP ever was and the disgusting acts I seen happening over and over by "speed runners" needs to stop. Also telling me what to do, how to speak, on a serious problem is harassment, going by the ToS.

People should not assume "speed running" is the norm, farming for chests is, some people do not know that speed running was a thing (like my friend did upon returning) and was harassed every other run that day she did return by speed runners. Speed runners are the ones that need to ask, not chest farmers.

You're still talking about PvP chat removal in the same breath you're saying you're not shoehorning anything. If it's not about PvP chat removal, then stop freaking talking about it and talk about what you made this topic for. Get to the point.

And once you get to said point, I will reiterate- most problems with inter-party conflict can be solved by either talking to them, or running a fixed party instead.

It sucks that happened to you, I'm sorry to hear you went through that but as everyone else has already said, this is not PVP and has nothing to do with PVP. The chat removal in PVP has nothing to do with PotD in anyway, and even if the chat was still there nothing would change.

With that out of the way, kicking is your only option. In a game that caters to Netflix and chillers, that is going to be your only option. They technically aren't doing anything wrong, but you can still kick them since "different playstyles" is apparently an acceptable reason to kick somebody. Your situation isn't much different from the Diadem Afkers. People just like to take the easy way out of things. The phrase "Work smarter not harder" comes to mind. Until SE does something to stop this, they'll view this as the working smarter option.

By using this example you're making it pretty unclear what you want to talk about - do you want actions taken about the PvE issues or just our PvP chat back? Get over that and discuss the actual topic (I'm not happy about the chat removal either but I've seen a lot more toxic behaviour in PvP than in PvE - and a lot worse than just afking and telling someone to suck it up)

To the issue you actually made the topic about... I havent really experienced that - me and a friend have done a bit of PotD recently, both near the 99/99 cap, to level his last jobs. While not all runs were a pleasent experience, I dont ever thought it would be necessary that Se takes action.

I dont get you - you're unhappy about them babysitting us in PvP, so now you want to extend that to the whole game? Yeah, I dont think so - as in: I dont think thats needed. How about we deal with minor problems like this on our own, mmh? There are multiple reasons to run PotD - silver chests, exp, shards to buy stuff, sacks... - all are valid and its up to the individual party to decided whats most important for the majority of them. Three people dont have to go out of their way for a single person - and if a single person chooses to be a jerk, they can always be removed. Problem solved.
Dont make this a bigger issues than it has to be - and dont bring other topics that might bother you but are completly unrelated into this if you want a serious discussion.

I strongly disagree with this - where does it say that the main objective of potd is/has to be silver chests when there are several other reasons to do that content? If someones there for exp, they most likely wont care about chests and one can easly argue that leveling up a class is more important than getting some outdated weapons and that therefor speed runs should be the norm (-> faster runs=more runs=more exp=more levels)
Just because silver chests are more important to you, doesnt mean they have to be for everyone - or that everyone has to go out of their way to get silver chests for you...

It has EVERYTHING to do with it. SE and the development team wants to prevent toxicity correct? So why take such a drastic action in one thing, where it is not even a huge problem, and not address issues that are a big problem? Being ignored also does not help, and I am left sitting here asking why? Why only curb behavior where it is not a big deal and not address more serious things?

that, if they take actions on PvP they better do it to PvE too otherwise it is unfair. I shouldn't have to deal with PvE toxicity if they want to take actions in PvP
