Just a question did you try to contact SE directly through chat or phone? You are going to get very little help if any directly from SE here on the forums as it mainly just peer to peer support and for people to talk about the game.OK SE I surrender you win. As usual you completely ignored a customers concerns regarding your product. I tried everything that others have suggested including spending money for a third party program to help get this download.......to no avail. As such I have deleted the game from my PSPro and will not try again. I now consider the money spent for FFXIV ARR and Heavensward to be totally wasted (not that you care you already got it). Maybe you should take that moneyy and invest it into some rudimentry customer service. People should not have to go through this aggravation just to download your product. At least this happened before I through good after bad and ordered Stormblood for the PSPro. Don't even know why I am writing this as you will probably ignore it too.
1. Posting it in other locals had the same effect as posting it here did. Ignored.
2. I refuse to blame my ISP solely for this problem. First of all it is happening across ISPs (as I read the complaints) and across platforms. The only common denominator is SEs download protocol. It would be interesting to find out if the problem is exclusive to NA or world wide. From what other players are telling me is the problem is cause by the fact that SE is using a P2P protocol that can conflict with ISP safeguards. It is foolish to think that large ISPs (Comcast, Time-Warner etc.) are going to change their protocols for 1 company.
3. Granted....this is speculation as SE has never addressed the issue.
Have you ever tried to deal with their customer service. The few time I tried to use the telephone My battery ranout of power before an agent picked up ( I use a cell as my primary phone). Trying to make contact via chat is just as bad.
Yes I have I have dealt with SE support dating back as far as 2004 when XI was on the PS2, also dealt with SE support for XIV matters also.
I congratulate you, you have had much better fortune then I ever had with them and I have been playing online with them just as long as you have. Suffice it to say I believe that there is no legitimate reason for me or anyone else to jump through these hoops to get something we paid for. We will just leave it to the fact that I will no longer attempt to download to my new PSPro and pray that I never run into this problem on my PC. Good day all
I had a friend recently try to come back and he had this same problem.
Due to the long wait on the phone and no easy way to reach their customer service (he has a ps4) he gave up and went off to play other games. Ended up not coming back. We tried everything you can think of and nothing fixed it. It's a shame they don't address this issue or help folks with it. I am sure if Yoshida knew he would get on it fast tho ^^
Never had to use a VPN, changing DNS was the only thing I've had ever done to solve any connection problems I had with the game. I actually had more issues with Sony's servers to download it from PS Store than with SE's server to download the patches.
In my experience with this forum though, SE does take ages to reply here, I always had more luck contacting them via email. I'm really sorry that you are having such a headache with the game though, I hope that gets solved in the future.
