Comparing the hat of Zurvan and face of the primal bahamut, it becomes evident that zurvan is wearing bahamut as a hood.

Going through the timeline we see that immediatly after the greatwyrm fell, the beast tribes of meracydia summoned the triad.

Zurvan, being summoned by the centuar-lizard creatures is described as being above all gods and having armor made of unshifting flame.

By the timeline, the closest the centuar-lizards had seen to a god, would have been Bahamut the greatwyrm.

Dragons, notorious for the flamebreath could perchance have been the inspiration for the dragon face atop Zurvans head.

My opinion is that the Centaur-lizards saw their godlike dragon fall to the allagans, only then to say "hmm, bahamut fell. So our god can kill bahamut and wear his remains as a symbol of victory"

Ironically, the allagans of course caught Zurvan and the eventual primal bahamut.

While it may be hard ot see on he pictures i provided, there are similarities with the three horns, middle one bent and small snout and chin spike.

Real bahamut will of course had looke different from the primal, so i believe i can say that the similarities sufice.

I love such nuances in the story, leading to speculation. Havent seen this one thrown around here so i'd thought i'd share it.
