    Ya, that is a problem, but that is why we discuss it on here :P. They could just be stats that are trivial as well, or when you unlock em, they are permanent stats. Sooo: Killer Buffalo will give me +5str, so I will have that +5 str but will be able to equip a different title?

    Now if the stats were a permanent boost I would be a little more willing to see something like that put in.

    How ever that could lead to the opening of a whole other can of bees with balancing and of course there would still be the issue of "What do you mean you don't have x or y". Though the balancing thing does some what fly out the window when you take materia into account.

    I would also think that much like materia there would be a hard cap on how high given stats could be boosted via titles (there goes that pesky balance thing again).

    Really this is how Guildmarks should have been implemented

    Defeat tons of coblyns like mentioned a few posts above, then you get coblyn-defence or coblyn-killer equiable trait

    Defeat tons of birds and you get a .... and so on.

    Defeating NMs for example would grant other types of traits like a more general critical attack increase

    ^this. It doesn't matter how big the bonus is, people will start requiring it and if you don't have it you're gimp and need to gtfo.

    I like the idea of adding titles but they should just be cosmetic in nature otherwise, as Griss mentioned, you're opening up a lot more problems that are a nightmare to solve.

    Thing is, nobody will know if you have it or not. So that wont be an issue.

    They might require it, but you could always just lie. Granted, it's fairly easy to check if someone has Gladiator leveled enough to have Sentinel and if they have it set in their action bar (and have activated it.)

    I have probably built up the achievement system as something bigger and better than it really is, but I still find myself looking forward to it.

    The only problem with this is that associating a stat with a title is that most people will gravitate towards a certain one "for optimization" rather than what they want.

    Just make it to where certain achievements (or all of them, but SE is kind of lazy, so I wouldn't expect this) give you certain items that are cosmetic only. I've said it before in another thread, but make the items something like an Aetheryte Wand for syncing with all the camps around Eorzea, or a Coblyn hat (shaped like the crystals on their backs) for killing X amount of them. No stats, level 1, all classes can equip. Just something fun to go for.
