    Assuming this is from XIVcensus: "Active players" doesn't refer to players actively playing the job. It refers to players who:
    a) Got the Wind-Up minion from the 3.3 MSQ
    b) Unlocked the job

    There's no mention of a level restriction, so just unlocking the job/class is enough to show up in the statistic. Hence why Lancer numbers are inflated - Many pick that up solely for the cross-class skills.

    It wasn't a huge difference. What summoner got was a few damage dumps that denies you the core gameplay (applying and refreshing DOTs) for a few moments, as soon as Dreadwyrm Trance ends you're back to the ARR gameplay. I'm not familiar with machinist, but you probably don't want this, it was a really shallow button bloat (that I personally want to see removed)

    I remain curious if they'll do anything to Gauss Barrel or Wanderer's Minuet. Both have caused a severe divide amongst ranged players and somewhat turned them into pseudo-casters. Can't help wondering if they'll go back to allowing both to become more mobile again.

    Machinist is actually still quite mobile with Gauss Barrel on that you'll hardly notice it as only three skills will have 1.5 charge bar, being hot shot, lead shot and Split shot, with everything else on machinist remains still instant cast. Rapid Fire is get to remove those 3 skills charge bar for fast rebuff for Lead Shot and Hot shot then follow up with a Split Shot.

    I can deal with Gauss Barrel's casting. But the graphical model needs to go. Change it to like, "Gauss Mode", keep the stance icon (because Minuet, Cleric Stance, and the tank stances don't have additional models and can be seen and identified just fine), and I dunno, make it change the light on the lunchbox or add a minor electrical current to your gun.

    Just. . . ditch the squid.

    Also, while I'd love more attacks (though there's only so many ways you can fire a gun/utilize a turret). I dream of being a proper buffer/debuffer support DPS. But for that to happen, at least in PvE, things would have to not be immune to everything.

    Genuinely couldn't care less about it.

    After getting the relic on it though, I can understand why people play it, but I'm still personally not completely sold on it, hence why I'd rather just wait and see what the mechanics changes will bring.

    I no lie thought it was just me that was staring at my bars the entire time I played MCH. I was so upset thinking I had to be doing something wrong, and no amount of trying to not focus on hotbars worked so I just quit. I was loving it too but that and the RNG...I couldn't. Also when the class was first announced I was hoping against hope that it would use 2 guns. I want to be like Merlwyb SO BAD.

    I already have my gauss barrel hidden, but it was a lazy fix to make it client side only, if you ask me. It's still visible for any other players. If it was perhaps an issue with being concerned whether MCH players were using it or not, I again cite things like Cleric Stance, Wanderer's Minuet, and tank stances that have no other graphic than the stance icon.

    Eww, Why, how, in what world is this a good implementation of it? Changing a ranged to a melee for no reason is shortsighted. As it's said here (in brief, so benefit of the doubt) it's implying you just want it to be a damage gain overall, which is also a poor idea.
    This is equally as bad of an idea as adding a feature that makes NIN turn both of his daggers into a double-sword so he can fight like Darth Maul. Just add a new job if you want something like that. Much less there's no way they can make this look good with actual gunblade models, Gauss Barrels look tacked-on, so would this.

    This sounds a BIT like some of the early articles for Heavensward. Saying that Ammo is spent on certain attacks and MCH players have to decide how to spend ammo. (This was apparently communicated poorly, or changed heavily. ) Any MCH player knows that there's only 2 real uses for ammo, your combo chain and AoE burn phases with no other decisions to be made.

    A heat mechanic/resource could be neat. Why are we latching it onto MCH? What does it have to do with turrets? For whatever reason, they didn't give us a cool cowboy gunslinger.     I disagree that RNG has any heavy effect on overall damage output. The amount of GCDs you go through tends to even itself out (See, the Law of Big Numbers). In a fight of about 300 GCD or more, you're only losing an average of 30 potency on a lost 'flip' that doesn't proc Clean or Slug shot. It's not that great of a loss.

    Never knew there was so much heat on Machinist. I just got through the 3.0 story with Machinist and by the end of it I felt like I had a fairly solid grasp. Sure there are some aspects of it that I think could be streamlined, but I don't really think it's so bad.
