    Flashier moves would help raise appeal. If we would have gotten Corruption shot(Symond boss laser beam)/Rostnsthal's Dead or alive laser beam like I was hoping to get when doing the quests then there would be a VERY cool looking move in the MCH arsenal which hopefully comes in stormblood. (Or watch it be nailed to Musketeer as the only users of this laser beam are sword+gun users)

    I believe most people have a bad idea about MCH being like BRD, cast heavy, but this is not true.
    If we compare BRD and MCH (WM V.S GB). They will add cast time to GCDs.

    BRD:
    8 GCDs
    - 2 AoE.
    - 6 single target.

    All of them require having WM on.


    MCH:
    7 GCDs
    - 2 AoE
    - 5 Single target.

    For single target, only 3 should be used with GB cast. (Hot Shot, Lead Shot and Split Shot).

    You can even drop GB for Hot Shot and Split Shot. This leaves only 1 mandatory GCD that requires you casting and that is Lead Shot.


    So with MCH you will be casting minimum 1 GCD and maximum 3, compared to 6 GCD with BRD on single target.

    I do recommend people to give MCH a try if they didn't because of BRD or thinking the job is cast heavy. It is very different.

    You're WAY overestimating the RNG aspect of it. That's like saying a job is weak because you don't crit often with it, or like saying PLD is bad because DRK has strong magic defense/mitigation and it (currently) does not.

    Well let us just say the main things people would look more to is Big Damage Numbers and amount of control they have with a Job they play. However, game been that way for a long time now anyways so the bigger the damage and more control they have with their character for easier play the more attracted they are a certain job.

    In a typical minute, you would be refreshing Hot Shot twice and Lead Shot twice, plus you'd have nine GCDs under the effect of ammunition. That's a total of 13 GCDs out of 24 (at 2.5s each) or 54% that have no RNG associated with them at all. Any chains that proc Clean Shot increase that number as well.

    Well, let's see:

    Lead Shot: Most potent DoT in the game so far, or so I'm told.
    Wildfire: You get out what you put in. The better you are at skill weaving and timing, the better your damage.
    Bishop Turret: Free, no TP aoe, can be placed and replaced faster than most other aoes, useful for area denial in PvP.
    Hypercharge: Vulnerability debuff and/or "Battle Voice" style effect for regen modes, vuln refreshes itself per hit, for as long as Hypercharge is active.
    CC: Everything except Sleep and Pacification.
    Casting and Movement: Half the cast time of casters, and both procs and weaving oGCDs allow you to bypass cast times, making movement easier.

    If a player doesn't have control as a MCH, or is incapable of big damage, they're in serious trouble.

    Why is this even a topic? MCHs aren't ostracised from any meaningful content, plus we have no idea what type of skills it's going to get in 4.0, so what is this mess based on? Because it's not brimming with popularity? Pointless thread.

    Ooh, I can see that being quite the amazing comp. Trick Attack, Battle Litany, Hypercharge, whatever party buff SAM might bring to the table, slashing and piercing debuffs for the respective jobs. . . Give me a PLD/WAR, and an AST/WHM (assuming they get some awesome new toys) and I'm in DPS heaven.
