It would be nice if there were more options to select different text choices during dialogue. Some people complain that NPCs just spew walls-of-text at people. By adding text options, it involves the player more, forcing them to pay more attention to what they are reading. Of course it would be nice if the choices changed the text, or even the results of a quest (perhaps by giving you a different reward based on certain choices), but I think simply having them would alleviate some of the tl;dr mentality.
Also, even providing a simple voice-acted "Hello!" in spoken dialogue when you first click on the NPC would be nice.
What do you think? Perhaps this could even lead to an eventual Secret of Monkey Island-style matching of wits. Picture retort based pvp. You fight like a dairy farmer...
