I am convinced people who use the "it's okay to suck" or the "I play how I want" arguments are the people who either actually are terrible at the game and do not want to get better for some reason or people who have never experienced duties that were literally impossible to clear due to how bad the party was & were forced to abandon, maybe a combination of both. Anyway, that's all I have to say. It's like beating a dead horse at this point.

There are different type of players and lately most of them have very little job experience do to Palace of the Dead. So blame the player not the product or do something proactive and try to teach them. I'm surprise your using DF for Alex might as well use PF like normal people do.

    Here are some tips;

Black list >>> Kick to avoid being in the same group. If Cross servers try and be productive and set rules. Other wise ask for help from your Server / FC / Friend list.
People lacking common sense I understand...But you can stop, or better yet, IMPROVE those people by setting up a system that forces them get better or not join that level of difficulty that content requires...If they do a test that forces them to play their role..and if they don't complete it..they must keep doing it over and over...they will most likely go search for ways to beat it or stop and actually READ their abilities, and in that process will learn how to better themselves in their job, and when in a group, all will have a great experience..but if we just carry people thru a dungeon or trial...it will not improve their knowledge...I don't like making comparisons to XI..but the BEST thing imo about that game was the "Genkai" fight...where you HAD to defeat a mirror job of yours 1 v 1 or else you cannot level and thus do endgame content...And it was hard for certain jobs...it forced you to really learn your job properly and thus...pugging at max level was the best experience i've had compared to all MMOs i've ever played..all knew what to do it was very relaxed when you did any content..no one is asking for absolute perfect play with 100% no errors...but at max level you should play your job and role at 90% efficiency at LEAST or else you can just stay and do the easier content that befits your skill level....Its not elitist..it's just being considerate to others if you are going to slow them down.

Fixed party means you don't meet anyone though, and destroys the point of MMOs...The great part of MMOs is when you play with others who did their roles and are polite/friendly..This is how I met the people in my LSes and FC...its not about "your level" or "My level"...there are BASICS that people miss out like i said..a SMN that doesn't dot...this is ridiculous to expect such a person in a group content at max level...its like a tank saying "I only DPS" and adds are all over the place...or a healer healing in Cleric while others die because "I don't feel like swapping"...We are not asking for TOP DPS or anything like that...just...know how to play your role AND show up with ALL YOUR SKILLS at the very least!! A Gladiator without Shield Oath has no way of holding aggro! This is the point we are trying to make!

And if we are those people, that's our business. If you don't want to play with us people who are terrible at this game, go play another game, or start filling up that block list.

I kinda get sick of hearing the adage " You don't pay my sub, I play how I want". It's BS. Unless you are totally solo playing, your socialist attitude is ruining everyone else's game play.

If everyone would enter a group with the attitude of " I want to make this team proud of me", not only would you have friends, but a successful party. DF or not.

I have tried to do static groups. I don't know many people and VERY VERY few have the patience to teach me A10S and up. SO I pug it. I learn some each time. But by trial and error, not by anyone showing me the ropes.
Maybe if we all had a little more patience. Take 3-4 minutes and explain the fight. We were ALL new at some point. It goes a long way to a enjoyable experience.

I have yet to complete a savage today. Even the one I know well lol.

Keep in mind some players are running scripts in dungeons due to the overwhelming amount of farming for things like relic/anima/lvling etc... It's up to the playerbase to recognize the problem and call them out on it. Its not always that they are stupid, sometimes they are lazy, this is the result of all dungeon crawler content. In large part why I enjoyed ffxi which had enormous openworld content.

What kind of crap logic is this?

Sure, they can go play another game. You know what happens then? The overall skill level of players (not to mention the number) declines. That's when you get people crying for nerfs because no one can clear content already designed to be accomplished even at the lowest common denominator. That's when you get people leaving in droves to other servers, crippling server communities and stunting the party finder. That's when you have fewer and fewer people who can, or even WANT to run anything, and THAT ultimately holds back development of the game from ever possibly becoming more than it is now, or might ever be. . . If your answer to people being frustrated that others are either not putting in the effort, or not even capable is to tell them to go play another game, THAT is how you kill a game.

Be apart of the solution. Teach them. And if they say things like they dont use dots, then they are clearly trolling you and the party. The kick option is there.

OK but here is the thing...if there was a test to make sure people knew how to play their jobs and roles...and they HAD to do it in order to Q for content of that lvl...and then you see them running scripts, slacking off or whatever...we can call them out...because they passed the test, it means they CAN do more but are exploiting the group for their gain...but trying to figure out "is this person new? clueless? a troll? etc" is unnecessary..they can EASILY do a guildhest style test using NPCs to fill in the roles of other jobs as fillers to train/teach/test people on what to do...it will really help things ALOT because the players will know what to do and they will feel confident...the party members feel content..things gets cleared faster...the only thing one might have to do is explain a fight before hand but at least expect that player to know how to hold aggro..to know how to dps...to know how to heal...using gear increases to boost players will not make the players better

The best healer i've played with was this week...a whm with 14k hp in G. Library Hard mode...what an amazing healer for the gear he had...I pulled everything and he healed AND dps'd...and I wasn't low or under pressure as I thought I would be with the gear they had and the amount I was pulling...but why were they so great? They used Divine Seal when they had to..kept medica 2 and regen up...etc and ontop of understanding their job and being very able...they were polite...it was a great experience for the whole group they were all very happy with this individual for doing so much with so little...So I don't understand those in these forums saying "Let people play how they want" ie "Don't play right in order to frustrate others and waste their time" this is extremely inconsiderate...would these people accept someone messing around with their application when they are doing government paperwork or something? "No i don't feel like putting the stamp there...I will go do 10 laps around the office instead..I don't care if your family is sick and you have errands to do after this" Come on....

and what would you propose? the "git gud" logic? What if I don't want to?

What if I'm having fun playing the game how I want to, and is willing to continue paying to play the game as such?

I'm not the one here complaining about how good or bad other players are, I'm just having fun doing me.

and what do you suggest to a person who is fed up from playing with other terrible players?
