Scripted Characters? is it possible to put your character on auto pilot?

so this is a rather odd experience ive had while farming for items.

this level 60 ninja began to join me in collecting Gigantoad skins. after hogging some of the enemy kills, i tried to reason with this player by simply sending a message asking if he would allow myself to hit the enemy at least once before he stuck a final attack.

no response.

he kept moving rather oddly and never seemed to take a break, so i just minded my own business and tried to hit the enemy at least once before he did. after a while, i noticed something strange. he was ignoring some enemies while showing no mercy to others. this was not because he finally was sharing; he was still killing enemies i was going after. finally, i decided to get in a good position and studied his movements. it was no doubt that he had a a specific pattern.

is it possible to program a character using User Macros to go on auto-pilot while the player is not on his/her keyboard?

Sounds like a bot. Botting is against the terms of service and you can report characters you suspect of botting to the GMs for investigation.

Using macros? Not it's not possible. Using ToS/EULA shattering 3rd party programs? Definitely. I'm not going to make claims having not been there and observed the behavior myself, but based on the information you provided it looks like the latter is most likely thr case.

Well PS4 and PC coexist and are not mutually exclusive. Provided that you (or they for that matter) own a license for both PC and PS4 you can log into your respective characters from either a PC or PS4.

Now if you know for sure that this person Games exclusively on PS4... I'm not a huge techno wiz but I know botting and such is still possible on console, just a lot trickier to do afaik.

Yessir Player Botting has been in the game for quite some time

Dont wanna level a class or just get all classes to 50/60 players can bot their character in Northern Thanalan. My experience was when I was trying to get to 50 and I was doing NT fates and I kept seeing this same name day in and day out they were in my FC but all my time being there they have not said a single word and each time seeing their name on the FC list they were ALWAYS in North Than. So I take off with 2 other FC mates to North Than and after awhile I just said I think xxxxx is a bot and whaddya know the FC leader agreed, I sent a few tells/says/shouts nothing the FC leader tries as well and nothing. This said person would stand around the aetheryte->Fate pops->they take off to the fate->finish fate->return to aetheryte->rinse and repeat (you'd see them there 5am 6am 3pm 8pm 12am) never logging out always doing the same routine. Its not just for leveling, Gathering also has the same problem with people botting their character to sit around nodes and such.

Lv.60 Gatherers do this exactly with the FATE Method you mention, 4 Hours Ingame in a Zone farming Ephermal Nodes, next Zone and next Zone the same.

Trade or Whisper them and they automatically set their Status to "Busy" or even send a automatic "?" as reply and do Shrug Emote.
It's quite fascinating and also horrible to see how they Develope in the end.

well thats just insulting to players who actually want to put time and effort into the game. im here as a level 25 Pugalist trying to farm toadskins while im queued for a roulette, and this level 60 ninja is delaying my farming progress by hogging the area until whomever is the owner gets back from cheater camp.

But you can stream the game with RemotePlay to the PC and running a macro programm on the PC that simulate blind keyboard inputs.
