This is purely to know people's thought on the matter.
Am I the only one who would like to go to the world of the warrior's of darkness and fight in a raid against "Void-light monsters"
We know that the 13th world was consumed by darkness and turned into the void.
The warrior of darkness world have somewhat the opposite problem. Too much light.
While Minfilia went there to save their world. I believe it would be interesting to actually have to go there too and help them save their world.
While the warrior of darkness want to save their world. It wouldn't be surprising that their world possess some power hungry faction that couldn't care less about the fate of their world as long as they rule it. (Or that they actually don't recognise what's happening as a problem)
Basically, selfish people like Thordan or Ilbert who do not care about the consequence of using too much ether and primal summoning.
The setting would be that this kingdom, for personal reason (political, ideological, religious whatever), instead of acknowledging the threat that this overabundance of light creates, they actually tap into that power making the light threaten the world for real.
Our mission through the 3 raids is to invade the capital and stop the king / person in charge with crazy light power.
Every raid features more light-themed "void".
How I would see it:
Part 1: The enemy isn't a fool and knows the warrior of darkness / minfilia requested help from another world. On our way through the the first world through the sea of ether (or any way we could actually travel there). We face opposition. The whole raid is about travelling safe to their world. On this regard, SE would need to reveal an unexplored way of travel as, as far as I know at least, it is currently impossible to do so for normal people. Using allagan technology could be a thing.
Part 2: We reach the world and head for the "capital of light". We enter the capital and clear our way to the castle gate. At first we only fight guards but they all use powerful light magic. Bosses would be "pseudo" primal who tap into so much ether that they transform into some kind of angels. (Same mechanic as Thordan, except that they tap into the over abundance of light the world possesses)
The second raid ends at the entrance (or in the hall) of the castle.
Part 3: We ascend our way into the castle. Here we discover that void creatures already exist. The amount of light here is so strong that people, willingly or not, transformed into void being.
Once we reach the upper end of the castle. We fight the king who has obviously transformed into some kind of light monstrosity. A fight in two phases like Diabolos could be interesting where in the second phase, we are litterally sucked into "the void" itself. Only the ground disapeared and we fight the king who "ascended" in a very big light vortex. (a bit like Crystal Tower last boss in term of setting, except that ... it's light)
Upon defeating the boss, the warriors of darkness thank us and promise they'll finish healing the wound of their world.
In term of monster design. I believe FF13 bosses and Bayonetta angel have a great design for "Voidling of Light".
Assuming something like this would be announced for... let say 5.0+
Would you be excited? Disappointed?
(perhaps a new word should be employed for light-void)
What's your thoughts?
