SAM design suggestion

I hope everything isn't finalized yet. One thing has been bugging me since the Stormblood trailer came out, and now with Gosetsu. To quote the movie 47 Ronin: "A samurai wears two swords." Please add in the companion sword. It does not have to have any function other than to be there, but a SAM just doesn't look like a SAM without two sword hilts on their hip

At this point everything would be done and it's now (most likely) just finished internal bug testing. I imagine the job gear may have a second blade; like how the i200 NIN gear had a small sword on the small of your back.

yep, unless the actual jobs skills / animations utilize 2 swords, a second sword wouldn't actually be tied to you equipped weapon, but as a decoration on your armor set. And if SAM is sharing armor sets with monk, then the only place you might get to see that will be on AF sets or possible PvP / event gear

Aye, while not expressed in the movie however as many Samurai lost their jobs and status they fell to desperate measures often selling swords but keeping their primary for defense and "work". Yes, a Samurai wears two swords, but they were Ronin. They had no armor, no lord, and sold their honor and skill to the highest bidder. All the more reason to have the Job called Ronin instead of Samurai.

These are Eorzean Samurai though. Our world's history does not specifically dictate how they act/look within this fictional universe.

My recollection of Final Fantasy Samurai over the years is one sword, two hands.

They were useful indoors or in smaller spaces where a normal sword might be more difficult to use freely.

That aside, having a proper daisho would be nice, but I can deal with it if SAM doesn't have it, so long as the swords we get are well designed. Even if as glamour, I personally am looking forward to the Ironworks/Allagan/High Allagan/Hive/Sophic Katanas.

I wouldn't mind if the weapon for Samurai included a Wakizashi, obviously the Katana is going to be the main weapon, but it could be used by some abilities.

Samurai needs Gil Toss more than anything As a side note, I want Ninjas to have a holmgang type ability that uses that small sickle attached to a chain. Don't know the name of the actual weapon but it's pretty badass. Beats katana in my opinion.
