Thancred's absence is unexplained. My personal guess is they simply didn't have anything for him to do in the story here, since it was focusing mostly on Lyse, Nero, and Yugiri.

It's heavily implied that Lyse's Archon mark was simply an illusion cast by Papalymo so people would believe she was the real Yda, which is why it faded away with his death.

Whether Matoya knows about the real Yda's death and her sister impersonating her is unknown. It seems to be a moot point though, since Matoya doesn't express much familiarity with any of the Scions save Y'shtola and the deceased Louisoix.

Nero just wanted to get Omega up and running to see what it could do. What he intended to do with it after is unknown.

Yugiri should be getting a lot of focus in Stormblood since we're going to her homeland and she's even in the opening FMV.

Just realized during the Shinryu v. Omega fight there was a very large tsunami that wrecked a good chunk of the wall... yet not so much as a puddle in East Shroud. I wonder how wrecked and submerged the area will be once we get to access it?

Hopefully very. They can't redo the East Shroud, but the other side can look like anything.

Yep. That is probably the area at the other end of the wall. The far eastern shroud or whatever. After that Rhalgr's reach when we get to Gyr Abania proper.
