Thread: Revelations from Patch 3.56

Okay finally managed to play it on my own instead of just looking at live streams. And I'm in the relatively small camp of people who actually liked it. Sure it didn't end with a bang like 2.5 but most of that ending was smokes and mirrors as everyone came out of it alive. Not Teledji obviously. And we were fugitives for 3 months while we could waltz into Ul'dah no problem. This worked better.
I know most of us expected Rhalgr (even I did) but I think the game provided a very good explanation to why it ended up being Shinryu. That one guy who was praying for Rhalgr didn't actually ask for him to appear and save us. He was praying for Rhalgr to give them power. A weapon.
It was pretty predictable that we will have to go to Gyr Abania to retrieve Omega, but at least it feels like a natural continuation of the story. I mean even in 2.5 we only went to Ishgard because we didn't have a better idea.
Alisaie is the only one who isn't bothered by Nero being a former imperial. She said as much. Adding to that how she viewed Darnus as one of the unfortunate victims of the calamity and I think it is a pretty safe bet that if we introduce non-traitor Garleans who aren't actually evil, Alisaie will be the catalyst for that.

Now for the questions left by the patch.

Where the hell is Thancred?
If Papalymo dying removed the archon mark from Lyse, why didn't Louisouix dying remove the mark from the real archons? Or Lyse was simply given an illusion and the real thing is more durable? Y'shtola's body was rebuilt from nothing and she still has her mark.
Does Matoya know about the switch? Her last appearance was before we reunited with Papalymo and "Yda" so we never saw them meet.
What actually was Nero's plan?
When will Yugiri grow a personality? I like her design and everything but now that she's back it is very noticable how dull and underdeveloped her character is compared to...pretty much everyone else.


Also I wonder who that little girl Yda saved was. When she died. My first instinct was Ascilia, but no time bubble is big enough to fit that in. I wonder if a corpse was found. While I'm sure Zenos is not Yda, we might bump into the real one. We need a Gridanian representative after all. Papalymo is super dead and Lyse kinda left the Scions, so the real Yda would be nice.
