I really liked it, I just wish there had been one extra cutscene after, maybe a camera pan from the WoL over the wall or just something that represented an end. Instead we had a conversation and then suddenly the credits rolled.

Well that was kinda anticlimactic. I expected quite a bit more considering the alliance is finally going off to war. Kept hoping one of the MSQs would trigger one of those "several cutscenes will be played in succession" warnings. In the end, while it cleaned up some lose ends, it didn't really give me anything to chew on for the next few months :c
Kudos to Aymeric for admitting that throwing the eyeballs off the bridge was a halfbaked idea though lol

Seeing as they were in the same place as the same time, Aymeric should have talked to Cid about it for a few.
Mr. "Give the 'Worthless' Tomestone to Gaius van Baelsar" probably could have told him to keep his chin up.

So... What happen to learning more about Silvertear in 3.x? Didn't they say we would learn more?
Overall I think the only highlight of this story patch was seeing it was Shinryu and the fight between him and Omega. Everything else felt like it was just dragging on... Even Nero was wondering why we haven't gone to Omega yet. In my opinion 3/4 of the story was just running around then the last bit was the only important part. Honestly it feels really rushed from what I played.
There wasn't much that surprised me this patch, the ending to this expansion was just meh and didn't really make me feel excited for what will happen next.

Sums up my thoughts entirely. It felt like a flashy action movie. Pretty and enjoyable in the moment, but without a lot of content to get me hooked for the sequel - or next expansion in this case.
What I'm most excited for in Stormblood isn't the MSQ, but the Omega raid and Ivalice.

Well to be fair, 2.55's story only really served as a reason to get us to Ishgard rather than being a major part of the HW story.Sums up my thoughts entirely. It felt like a flashy action movie. For me, I need to chew on this for longer and let it digest but my initial thoughts are that it raises a lot of questions. Without a clear time scale its hard to be sure exactly when Lyse took over the identity of Yda. Was it before 1.0 (apart from the flashbacks) or was it post calamity? 2.0 started 5 years after the calamity and it wouldn't be unreasonable to think that at least a year has past. The other questions I have are in regard to Shinryu. There are a few aspects of the primal that don't quite fit the traditional model and I hope we can learn exactly why.
Honestly I would prefer the Ascians take a back seat role for a time. We have been bumping them off pretty fast lately and I would like to wait a while before the next one drops.

Given that there's only one storyline this patch I'm not going to do my spoiler within a spoiler thread.
Yda/Lyse (SOUNDS LIKE IVALICE, COINCIDENCE?) was ... okay. It mucks up some of the 1.0 stuff, but I can live with that because a lot of 1.0 stuff is a jumbled mess.
Gynewaht was very disappointing, though I'm glad he's not Arvina. I suspect we'll see him again since Nero recognized him. Perhaps his lack of respect for subordinates is supposed to indicate he's one of Zenos'.
Nero feels weird to me, though I do enjoy his cheekiness. I hope he gets ample screentime.
Why/how did the Domans instantly know "oh it's Shinryu!" and how did Zenos know the Domans knew this? A SPY? (Other than a convenient handwave because WE, the players, would know it as Shinryu)
Gosetsu was a little weird to me. Maybe it's some trope I'm unfamiliar with.
No Ascians. Really? That's very weird. This is like all of their doing--not even a "damn, Bahamut v2 didn't work!"? Elidibus where you at boy?

I'm inclined to believe that the domans only called him Shinryu because he resembled a similar dragon from their own stories, rather than them knowing exactly what it was.

Shinryu is essentially the Japanese name for Shenglong, therefore it makes sense that "Shinryu" would be an Othard term. Perhaps it was their name for Midgardsormr.
