but repeating races is an off the wall complaint, seeing as most games repeat them.

Don't think star wars fans are bitching about this, and they have more games with the races, playable or not.
I'm having trouble understanding what you mean by "It's not that they lack originality is the point?" Do you mean "It's not that, they lack originality is the point" or "It's not that they lack originality, is the point"?

However, the post above me already mentioned, Star Wars is a telling of the Star War's "Universe". Final Fantasy series has stories of various different universes that doesn't co-exist with each other.

Thus, you have to re-brand the race/culture, just like how they are re-branding all the races from FFXI. Their only reasoning given to doing so was for ease of transition between FFXI players who have become attached to their characters. However, they had no intent to keep the races' culture from FFXI. I can't imagine them wanting to re-brand races from other FF games to incorporate into FFXIV.

Don't mistake a continuity of universes throughout FF series because of recycling iconic creatures, monsters, vehicles, and names. Such as chocobos, bombs, airships, and the name Cid. Granted these were not always in every single FF game, but more of a branding device for FF games.

Your pulling it apart pretty much opposite of the point. People arnt tired of having the same race with the same job, with the same objective, in that instance.

nobody said ppl are, either you just arn't getting my point, or you just don't want to get my point. at this stage i dont think anything i or any1 else says is going to get you to see what i/we mean.

all you need to know. my point about wishing they had made new races for FF14 is valid, and not unreasonable going on previous FF titles. they didn't make new races so its fine its not the end of the world, and i'm not so upset about it that i will rage quit, and although i really hope they don't do as the thread asks and implement races from other FF games like the viera. it wouldn't be the end of the world if they did and i would live with it. all i was doing was giving my reasons for not wanting them to.

What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.

That's not necessarily the case. We know that Spira is a planet where Shinra, an Al-bhed child's descendants learned how to travel through space to other planets. One planet we know they inhabited is the same one in FFVII, and so the story continues.
Who is to say that the universes that each world in Final Fantasy is in isn't actually one universe? If I recall correctly, in Dissidia Final Fantasy the warriors were never mentioned to come from different universes, but only from different worlds.
    We just don't know.
