New Racers for Final Fantasy XIV

I think the race now should stay the same and they should not add any race from FF12 or any other final fantasy. The new race they may add would be the people from grid and maybe a new race from a far land but that about it.

They should not make new race every few years that would mess up game.

Just wondering, does race make much of a difference? I started off as a Taru and wasn't sure if I should switch to a different race because I want to main as a Lancer.

Wasnt at the start, unknown now ( to me), but they will let you change once the dust settles and everything is fine tuned.

So yes I believe the dev team can do this and they should. Eorzea is only one of three small continents and we don't even know whats beyond the Empire, its fact no one can judge or rule that out. Just like new monster races and tribes can be added the same can be applied to player races in a sense.

and please, using "fan request" as a justification for something that serves little purpose other than pure fan-service is weak. Bring on the viera and bangaas, have the Espers shoot the shit with the Aeons out back, while the Kuluu and the Cetra argue over who's the better ancient race as the Occurians plots to take over the world, only to be stabbed by a horde of Tonberries that appeared out of nowhere.

We've digressed far from my original, and only point. It was a weak argument to say something doesn't belong in xiv because it appeared in an offline ff, and not an online ff. To justify why they could just copy pasta a galka and rename it a roe, and not do the same for Viera is pretty silly.

It's not a weak argument, as it is an explicitly stated design choice by SE. No matter how badly one wants to say that 11 and 14 are no more related than any other entries in FF, the fact is that SE doesn't see it that way.

There's nothing wrong with disagreeing with SE's decision to port FF11's race straight into FF14, but using that as justification for importing other completely unrelated race into FF14 for no other reason than "I can haz bunny girl!!!" is weak at best.
