I agree, but atleast 4.0 wont have the same issues that 3.0 had. The whole Ul"dah affair in 3.0 was rushed and felt messy, the same could also be said for the Warrior of Darkness storyline. It felt like heavensward's man story arch end and 2.0's story arch ends were far more climatic than this. I feel a little let down. Honestly, the Fall of Sultanate storyline was one of the best things in game, and the fact they ended the 2.0 era story with a 30 minute cutscene? Hmnn..
Felt like we were sold short.
The big disappointment of Heavensward for me.
Something else, I thought we will met with Ramuh again, but it wasn't happened.

Player
The calamity happened 5 years ago, and Lyse said Yda died 6 years ago. So likely at the beginning of 1.0, she had just begun to imitate her sister.
From the sounds of it, the real Yda was very independant. But the Yda we knew, Lyse has always had Papalymo as sort of a crutch. Such was true in 1.0

I enjoyed it well enough, the omega vs shinryu was a cool dbz moment and I loved the smirk my character made when the armor shown up so I can say I had fun.
Oh hey nothing was here
I took this as the 1.0 players knew Yda, but the 2.0+ have only ever met Lyse.
....it was kinda boring/predictable. Best part was Nero, who was amazing . fight was...fine. Yda/Lyse reveal was a giant letdown like..ok? Also stop with the dragons. They're not that interesting anymore.
I haven't tried, but opening Airships between all 5 current 'nations' would have been amazing. 'Ul'dah, Grid, Limsa, Ishgard, Mor Dhona'.' Even if no one used them, it would have solidify the union.
Also why are the GCs involved at all? They literally did nothing? Just give the Scions to continue doing what they always do? How about send back up? Bad writing is bad.
I admit it packed a bit less punch than I had anticipated but I still enjoyed it very much so. I LOVED the bit with Raubahn at the end, I found it super nice ; I also loved Yugiri. She was super cool in all of the scenes despite having very little interaction, I really enjoyed the cold and mistrustful manner in which she regarded Nero. Though, the part where you walk away with Alphinaud to return to the Rising Stones? That scene REALLY should have had a longer fade-to-black. It faded so quickly that I honestly felt I was walking into the next set of scenes rather than having already reached the end - there was no finale feeling about it whatsoever.
Here's my gem of the patch though:
Why.... wouldn't they be around? They were securing Gridania's border. They had been at the wall all along.

I don't think so. Its probably unlikely that the real Yda had the same type of relationship with Papalymo that Lyse has. Papalymo seems to have been tasked to protect Lyse after Yda died, which is why Lyse and Papalymo were so close. I think the Yda we've knwon even from 1.0 has always been Lyse.I took this as the 1.0 players knew Yda, but the 2.0+ have only ever met Lyse.

Something struck me, there's a potential implications that leaders are searching for a different approach to deal with the primal threaths, afterall we "could" deal with shinryu, but in the end they went for the omega
