Calling it right now. Raubahn Aldynn is the secret nephew of the Mad King and rightful Heir to the Ala Mhigan Throne!

No need for a spoiler tag, nothing was said. It was a moments pause in dialog, one small detail I noticed, a line of dialog from an older FF game and my own speculation.

What we know is that the prince is likely alive by help of the monastery. So a prince would be the rightful heir over a nephew. Could he be the prince? Maybe, but I wouldn't like that since I would have less respect for Raubahn.

Ilberd denounces him for abandoning his people but there's only so much he could do. If he ends up being prince, that changes a lot and makes it look like he really was running away and being comfortable while his people suffered. There's more responsibility there and I don't want Ilberd in the right. Also doubt Ilbert would've cut off his prince's arm so easily even if he did lose respect for him.

However, I'm guessing you don't realize we have met a nephew of the royal family already (if you played monk). Widargelt from the monk quests. There were hints of his importance before, but it was confirmed in the Eorzean encyclopedia.

"Though commonly known as one of the young leaders of the Ala Mhigan Resistance, Widergelt's true birth name is Theodred, and he is nephew to Theodric, the last king of Ala Mhigo."

As a result, Widergelt will likely play a role in 4.0 similar to that of Estinien's in 2.0. Moving from a job box to a central role since their characters are pivotal in the running conflict.

He might even have played a bigger role as heir to the throne if there wasn't a prince. But who knows? Maybe the prince is evil or dead.

The reason that none of the Scions have job crystals is to do with lore reasons as to why they haven't had the opportunity to upgrade, rather than them outright not being able to, and Lyse has the perfect opportunity.

It would be super cool if the Scions started adoption proper jobs, and would especially make sense for Lyse in Stormblood.

That would make Thancred RDM as he seems to do everything in a jack of all trades fashion ;D

In all seriousness though, I find it unlikely that the scions would take up jobs unless it made sense within the lore. As I said, Y'shtola can't become a WHM (nor would she have any intention to even if she could), and all of the "ACN scions" are in fact already scholars, but the sharlayan kind rather than the nymian kind (it would be cool if this were to become its own job), and that just leaves Papalymo who can totally become a BLM, I believe in him

Lol I did level monk but forgot that entirely. Good looking out. I do however noticed something in the dialog. Something is happening or has happened there. The General I'm betting will be the king. Just something about the story tuss far. May be a red harring too though.

Honestly I suspect the Ala Mhigan's wouldn't really find royalty a compelling figure to rally around. After all their last king was a nightmare and it is at least in good part because of him that the Garleans could just waltz in and take over.

It was mediocre, imo.

Yda was a manufactured reveal (we never knew the real Yda, so who cares? all we learn is she lied about her name)

Everything was rushed.

Gotsetsu seemed like a parody and makes me worry the expansion will be Pandaria 2.0. (No thanks)

The only compelling part of this was the idea of Raub and son fighting together..which I worry will end in tragedy =*(

-Also they said Pap sacrificed for time... and they repeated it- but I can't help thinking they sacrificed him for development time... and it wasn't worth it.

Am I the only one that really liked the Shinryu vs. Omega fight? I guess I'm just easily entertained but goddamn that was unbelievably cool to watch!
