Tanks with slaying ring

Is it the new thing for tanks to wear 1 slaying ring that has Str?
Just curious and does it make a difference in the dps department for us tanks?
Yeah i meld my acce with str xD but i kinda understand xD
Been planning on using alex 270 slaying ring but im also unsure if it affects my Vit or something since in the "norm"-way tank wear tank stuff xD

The alternatives have parry, so most tanks consider the BiS build to be Alex Fending and Alex Slaying rings. The Slaying is melded with a Vit V materia.

The Slaying rings have between 4(Shire Slaying) and 15(Alex Slaying) more dps stat weight than the Proto Ultima and Shire Fending rings.

Keep in mind the difference is barely .2% in stat dps weight between the BiS fending and BiS slaying and a 4% difference in maxhp.

I just know that the fending ring is not necessary even in savage, so take the alex slaying ring 270, you have more dps with it.

As someone stated it's a very slight increase in DPS and it is the true BiS, SE stated they were removing parry but yet, the proto Ultima ring is garbage so it was wasted for tanks in the end.

wait i thought vit and str have same damage value for tanks, and the only thing that change was the extra hp given by vit ones.
feniding ring is 88 VIT + 15 STR = 103 Primary stat points
slaying ring is 78 STR + 15 VIT = 93 Primary stat points

are the secondary stats of slaying one surpass the value of the primary ones given by the fending one?

since the last stat weight update yeah... – therefor I know tanks who were/are still used to mix their gear with slayer stuff... just wondering why it's a topic called under "new thing", if it was common in the past on nearly every end-game tank until the balancing-patch

Depends on Tank , as long as they can keep enmity and decent def some use it for Critical Speed. Sometimes it worth it, in lower dungeons or waiting on higher alternated Def. ring., but endgame it's a different story.

You didn't get AP from vit then though so it was entirely different circumstances.
