Aspect ratio and resolution

Hello helpful friends!

Is there a way (in full screen mode) to set a custom resolution?

I play FFXIV using my Surface Book. In full screen mode, I can't choose any resolution that supports the Surface Book's 3:2 aspect ratio. The only way to use the entire screen is to pick the last option which is the native 3000X2000 resolution.

The GTX 965m is capable enough for 60fps with the standard settings but starts to sweat in the higher options. That, and the UI just doesn't scale right, even with the settings that let you adjust it.

Any thoughts? Any answer is much appreciated.

Take in look in your Documents folder then "My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn". There's a ffxiv.cfg file which you can open/drag into notepad.

Recommend make a backup of the file first, but a few lines down is ScreenWidth and ScreenHeight. I don't know if it'll work, but you could try changing those numbers.

However, it's likely that making any updates to the graphics settings in the game with overwrite your changes.

If type a resolution that isn't supported, it'll default to the lowest res when I get into the game. If works if you pick an option that already exists.

Hey I appreciate it though. 3000X2000 might be a little insane but it'll have to work for now!
