Using Cordial/Hi-Cordial while in "Cast" stance

i once made a suggestion in this regard, because of the releasing fish command wich is basically useless since 3.0...
yes, either allow us to use cordials in cast stance or change the releasing fish command so it remembers wich fish we released until we fish on another fishing spot o.o/

My guess is that it was designed that way as a side effect of not being able to use a cordial while at a gathering node; being in cast stance is treated the same way as having a node open. Back in ARR, there was no reason for a fisher to use GP, so nobody noticed/cared.

I would also guess that it's been kept that way through HW because of Patience (II) and Fish Eyes, which wear off after you leave casting stance, just like miner/botanist buffs wear off when you exit a node.

one moment, you are probably right. allowing the use of cordials while on the gathering note gives the option to use additional buffs, more buffs than your max GP would allow.

but it's not impossible. they could allow the use of cordials only if you don't have any buffs active which cost GP. then you can't activate patience and use a cordial while it's active to get more powerfull hooksets off for example...
