i'm getting gear because it's actually fun to do the dungeons (potd is nice but gets monotonous) and I have some friends to play with so I wont have to worry much about queues.

I've capped SMN and almost full ilv270. For lv 50 I'm full augmented ironworks and saving poetics to but ironworks RDM weapon, and stocking scripture to but shire weapon and augment it. Gonna get some squadron XP bônus and then Go to work lol
i have a static, fc and very active linkshells - but aside off this there is another reason:
for me this is a game not a sport - I like exploring and even failing on my own, learning by myself instead of reading guides in the first way and most important I wanna enjoy new updates instead of mindless boring grind because the grind will find you anyway sooner or later if you wanna max out/main a new cls. thats why ^^
but yeah have fun in potd if it's the way you enjoy the game : )
Main reason people will be doing Palace is because, and we do not know for 100% certainty but Queue times will most likely be worst then they are currently for dps.
So the current 1hr wait (even Expert roulette at times) may even be longer...
Heck yesterday was helping a friend who has returned to the game get his Sohm Al HM clear, we had 2 dps and a heal, waited over 20 mins for a tank.. so i guess players are not tanking as much either? Not sure
I'm all set. I just farmed Creator Savage into oblivion and have the whole monk left side ready and 8 pages for the Katana. I've got most of the mats saved up to make and buy all of the primal weapons as well. I main DRG so the right side was taken care of forever ago
I'm willing to spend longer getting to 60 for the sake of my sanity. PotD is okay but I can only take 20-30 floors before I get bored as hell. Even fate/leve spam is more interesting to me. Plus I can do these things while queued for dungeons which will give me a better feel for the classes.
Plus I'm not really going out of my way to farm Ironworks, I'm just doing 50 roulette 5ish days a week and I've actually already got a full i120 striking set and most of the upgrade items (plus the items for the ironworks weapon) so finishing that and getting a casting set before SB should be a cinch.
Yeah I learned that today after realizing when failing you don't get squat for exp so I just went back to duty finder grinding and logging off for the night instead and I get to do things that I need to get done while waiting for the queue to pop.I'm willing to spend longer getting to 60 for the sake of my sanity. Well, as one of these tanks who will switch to Samurai, I ll be doing whatever allows me to skip the DPS queues. These will be so bad, people will rage, whine and rant because their gameplay experience will be one of the worst in a long time. PotD grinding is likely the best way simply because you ll just have 3 SAM and a RDM every run, haha.
although im waiting for SAM as well – i think it will be the other way around it seems there are more people interesting in RDM than in SAM cause it's a fairly new kind of cls which combines range with melee atks - SAM will just be "another" melee dd ^^
