hit a questing roadblock for the msq

i have to do a dungeon that requires 180 gear, im currently at 142. someone told me to do Aetherochemical Research Facility, but that would take 20 runs to earn enough lore to buy gear which is fine because theres a dungeon later where ill need 210 gear.

is this my best option?

ARF is a good option. A lot queue it now for large amount of lore. There's also a vendor in Azys Lla for i150 gear. You can also do hunts or use the marketboard.

If you can get your gear up to 145 (either through running the Library or buying gear from the node in Azys Lla), you can start running Neverreap/Fractal Continuum (which drop 160 gear). While the gear drops alone aren't enough to get you into the next set of dungeons, you'll also get tomestones that you can use to fill the gaps. From there, it's just a matter of unlocking content and doing it until you get enough gear to move on to the next tier.

Unlock Clan Centurio Hunts from the Hunt Board outside the Forgotten Knight tavern in Ishgard Foundation and do all three tiers of Hunts each day along with the weekly Rank B Hunt (which a level 60 player should easily be able to solo with their chocobo). These will reward Centurio Seals which you can turn in with Yolaine, the elderly elezen lady behind the counter at the Forgotten Knight for antiquated AF2 gear (the old Tomes of Esoterics gear) for your Job which is ilevel 200 (you can also upgrade this gear to full AF2 which is ilevel 210).

After a few hunts you should be able to acquire enough seals to gain the whole set which would be enough to get you past your current roadblock. Good luck!

Excellent tip, I wasn't even aware of that, thought they would have gotten rid of that gear completely lol. Thx for pointing that out, Enkidoh

Look into playing a few frontline pvp matches you can easily get a 235 weapon or body within about an hour (5 to 6 matches) be aware that the gear has no accuracy soonly use it to supplement your lore gear. The accuracy cap for endgame is around 600. Please only use a few pieces and temporarily or ull start missing alot of skills. Thia is useful for completing msq though. You can check my character on lodestone for an idea of what i mean. Also worth mentioning is potd(paths of the dead lovated in quarrymill) if you can get aetherpool to 30/30 you can get a ilvl235 weapon

In all honesty though, there's dozens of options to choose from. Farming ARF is just the most efficient, assuming you don't get any gimp parties.

My advice was going to be what Enkidoh said. A quick hour or so running with a good group of mark hunters chasing A/S ranks, plus clearing off the board in Ishgard once should get you all the seals you need to meet your current requirements and probly the next batch - and some Lore and Scripture tomes as a bonus to start getting the better stuff too.

If you have money, you could also buy a couple pieces of the crafted 250 or 255 gear. If you do, just make sure its gear designed for your class. A lot of people get upset when they see people cheating the ilvl requirements with gear that isnt actually helping their performance.
