Who gives a flying monkey's about the lore reason? People just want the items to wear or use, so slap in some rando shady merchant to give you a quest that takes you to some rando Allagan node that burps out items for gil; chalk it up to the Allagan Empire researching an interdimensional anomaly with only a small rift in the fabric of reality to stick their thermometers in - they only thing they got from it were random items similar to those of Allag yet entirely incomprehensible - so they replicated them, though they lost their original function... whatever that was... they did get to be used for a small time.

Yours sincerely - a person quite into Drakenierverse, as well as XIV's lore, who can discern when something is possible to be added for fun and something that can be easily written in.

If it's just clothing and weapons, that can work. Dropping NieR characters into FFXIV cannot happen, however (this is what I've been arguing).

As much as I love Nier Automata, I don't really want a crossover with it and FFXIV. The Nier/FFXV crossover stuff was fine--XV got some car music and Nier got the Engine Blade, which is technologically advanced enough to make sense in Nier's world (and damn if its weapon story didn't expand Noct and his dad's relationship better than in its own game). With XIV it would be pretty hard to work it in, even if it was dimensional travel or "the Allagans did it." Plus, the tones of both games are too different to really mesh well, in my opinion.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that, for threads like this, THIS CANNOT CONTINUE!

Moogles singing and dancing in the Dark Knight quest line
Bosses (JP) shouting out their ultimate attacks like anime characters
Gilgamesh hamming it up
The whole Hildibrand questline with him shooting up in the air

But some robots that can passed off as Allagan made is too far fetched?
People need to realize that you're not supposed to take this game seriously because FFXIV surely doesn't.

Because it wouldn't make sense. Play NieR, look up the timeline of that game and you'll understand why (but allow me to give you an example: If any of the main characters in NieR appear in FFXIV, then it would need to be explained in the game they're from how they wound up in a completely different world where there is no threat of black scrawls, shades, machines, certain extinction, etc. It needs to make sense for both games. Not just one. Shantotto even vaguely mentions she entered a different world, implied to be Eorzea, in FFXI).
If people were asking for a Drakengard collab, then we'd be having a completely different discussion.

I just want an outfit or two just for fun. Make it like Garo just there to be obtained, couldn't care less about a character showing up, can't just have every jack and jill pop out of nowhere.
