Why am I always losing aggro on Ultima Weapon?

Hey Tanks,

I notice that lately I am always losing aggro/hate on Ultima weapon and it goes directly to a healer. Fortunately I always carry provoke on my back bar, but im trying to figure out what it is im doing wrong. I have sat back and watched other Tanks do it and a few of them have had the same problem, a few dont. So it must be something im doing wrong, correct? I start this fight off like I do any other, Long range aggro -> Spam overpower a few times and go. But for this guy its not working.

Honestly for this instance it really doesn't matter as we burn him down enough anyway. But I dont want it to be a mechanic I dont understand that bites me in the behind farther down the line.

Shouldn't use provoke at pull. As a war? I use tomohawk, then brutal swing off gcd then overpower. Then start my butchers block combo.

Im only using provoke for when I lose aggro and it goes right to the healer. Looking back at my first post and edited. I flubbed that one, sorry.

But what you described is essentially what I do (I never have time to get into butcher block. Hes usually staring down the healer by then) and it works every other time but against Ultima Weapon.

Are you talking about Praetorium? If so, nobody is 'supposed' to attack until Hydaelyn bestows her blessing upon you and the arena fills with light as it does no real damage and healing spells earn considerably more aggro as a result. If people are taking aggro then there's no real need to stress over trying to get it back as he won't hurt much until the fight really begins. Paladins, on the other hand, can use heal spells/stoneskin to counter healers if they want, but again, it's not really important. Simply wait for Hydaelyn to speak/the arena to fill with light, THEN provoke and tank as per usual.

How to not use warrior.. you have to start with Infuriate - unchained - tomahawk -overpower(if you really want to be more safe OR you can just use Equilibrium) - Storm eye combo - butcher combo

Just MT, as unchained is only available when you're in defiance, and if you're OT, you don't want to have defiance up. One you hit 60 there's a rotation for OT/stance-dancing MT you can look into, but it mostly involves using your stacks on fell cleave (or decimate for AOE damage).
