Ready to Raid - Mentors and Newbies needed. Guide people into PvE content!

Are you ready to raid?

The unofficial, community managed Odin Discord is bringing this NA/EU World of Warcraft concept which is something we would love to introduce to FFXIV. Since we only have the Savage and no Heroic difficulty, our Ready For Raid project will take a little more preparation and time; but we think it’ll be worth it!

So what exactly is this?

We want to give motivated and willing players who (for one reason or the other) haven’t gotten into raiding the chance to experience current PvE content in this game. Not only does this system offer you a stepping stone into the raiding community, but also encourages you to meet awesome players with various background experience.
Anxiety issues, the lack of personal coaching, or being a new player are often the reason why people are to shy to give this aspect of the game a chance. Ready for Raid gives you a unique opportunity to explore FFXIV on a new level in a relatively stress-free and save environment. Additionally, as a Mentor, you'll get that warm feeling in your heart for doing something good.

What is the plan?

Ideally we want to form 1-2 groups with 4 experienced and 4 new players to head into Savage raiding. If the demand for this project is high we’re going to swap out newbies on a weekly basis. That said, the raids will be streamed so everyone who interested but couldn't participate can still follow, watch and learn as we progress through our Adventures. We’ll talk about tactics, help out with rotations, gain some experience and hopefully also clear some content!

Who can join?

Everyone with no FFXIV raid experience are eligible for the newbie slots. The group composition has to be somewhat meta, so we can’t promise everyone a spot each week, but hopefully we’ll have enough signups so we can rotate everyone in and out.

People with raid experience (5+ savage clears under their belt), are more than welcome to apply for the “Mentor” slots and we’ll have to evaluate you when you come to us. We would like to give the newbies the best support we can

Requirements

You’ll need to be at least ilvl 250, melded and accuracy capped. Weekly Materia can help with that. If you are below ilvl 260 some Vitality melds are a good idea. Feel free to ask us about your melds, possibly even crafted gear at good prices if needed.

Remember that this isn’t going to be a carry group, we expect you to want to get into raiding and that means effort on your part as well, but we are here to help as best we can so you’re not alone.

For Mentors: A link to your fflogs is mandatory, as well as a certain amount of Creator Savage kills, as mentioned above. Raiding experience in previous tiers is highly appreciated, but not necessary.

When do we start?

Since we are in a build-up phase, we can't give you specific details about start date, time, and the amount of raids per week just yet! We eagerly await new applications and will decide together when an optimal. If you are interested but don't know if raids may conflict with your IRL schedule, we recommend signing up regardless, as people could be swapped out with minimal effort.

How is this organised
All communication about this project is going to happen on the Odin discord server. Because of this, being part of our Server is mandatory for our organisation. We are currently counting more than 250 people, so you can connect with people even if you are not part of the Ready for Raid project.
